^I think (as IRL) it would depend on the couple, the type of people they are, maturity levels, how involved in the forum they are, the circumstances surrounding the break up... things like that. again, as in real life, there could be problems with friends being expected to take sides, that sort of thing.
in the time i've been around i only remember one couple breaking up, iamtha1 and 1234, and that was a very simple 'we thought it might work but it didn't' after a pretty brief relationship, so it wasn't a big deal at all.
