Hey all, hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

I had a really shitty week....I ran out of my percocets on Monday, I can't get any more until next Tuesday:( This is not normally a huge catastrophe for me if I can ride out this time with Kratom, but unfortunately, I didn't order my Kratom early enough to arrive by the time I ran out of my pills. I was online checking the damned tracking number for shipping like every hour or so. I was too broke to go to the smokeshop and pick up an emergency supply...in fact, I am so broke I had to scrape up change from various sources....aka sofa cushions, old purses, car console....to put enough gas in the car to make it through the rest of the week. That is so embarrassing....I had a big line behind me and everything as I counted out my change to buy like $9.18 worth of gas. I am 47, you would think I would know better by now:)

But I digress.

Long story short, I was looking down the barrel of 3 days of withdrawal hell, and missing work was not an option, since I am already on the line with my absenteeism and a supervisor or two who would love to give me a foot in the ass. I had heard on the boards here that loperamide helped quite a few people with opiate withdrawal, but I was quite skeptical, as any OTC medicine never seems to help me much with that sort of thing. This time I was pleasantly surprised. I had a bunch of cheap generic loperamide pills already and I started off by taking 4 2mg pills on Tuesday morning. I took 2 more pills about every 3 hours or so during the day and it kept a lot of the physical misery of withdrawal at bay. It did nothing for the psychological cravings, but it did enough for me to at least enable me to function properly at work. One of the withdrawal symptoms that bothers me the most is having the sweats, and I swear it seemed like the loperamide addressed that issue as well. Don't flame me for any scientific inaccuracy regarding my claims, I just wanted to share the one thing that makes me get through a day of withdrawal. In the future I wil always have a stash of these put back. I would like to believe that I can learn to portion out my pills in a way that I would not run out before the next scrip, but I don't seem to be able to do that now and I doubt I will do it in the future.

If you haven't tried lopermide for withdrawal, I highly recommend it and hope that it has positive results for you as well.

Peace,

C.

Hi CrazyC :)
Loperamide is well-known here on Bluelight for reducing withdrawals and there are lots of threads about it. It is actually based on science: loperamide is an opioid, it just doesn't affect the brain much because most of it immediately removed from the brain, but it does affect the body. Basic Drug Discussion is generally more for questions though, and since this is a well-discussed topic I am going to close this but please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
