Though it's almost universally know among amphetamine users, I'll still explain it to be as complete as possible in this, my first post. Please bare with me.
Vyvanse, is a d-amphetamine pro drug, which in this case requires metabolism in the liver to cleave the lysine portion of the molecule and result in the dextroamphetamine becoming psycho-active in the blood stream. There have been suggestions that certain common acids that are similar to the amino acids used in metabolism, can result in d-amp as a product.
I'm no chemistry major, but basically what I'm asking is this:
If someone took 3, 40mg vyvanse they are prescribed to, opened the capsules and emptied them into a coke, would there be a change in the effectiveness, reaction rate, or any other variables that could negatively effect the metabolism of the d-amp? The concern comes from evidence of a chemical reaction of sorts, as the coke foamed up almost uncontrollably after adding the l-d-amp and the effects were not as strongly noted. Note this person also would have very little tolerance to amphetamine and took them this way on an empty stomach.
Summary: could pouring vyvanse in a coke or something similar, effect the drug overall, either negatively or positively?
Once again, I apologize in advance for an, I'm sure, poorly shaped thread. Any suggestions on how to improve future posts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.
