Simple GHB chemistry question.

BT : Heh Heh. Yeah I knew it was outside the guidelines, not mention risky. But I thought I'd just take a hit for the team in the interests of harm minimisation.
Of course I'll appropriately dispose of it afterwards.

Ok.
After leaving the diluted solution in the fridge (at say around 4 degrees) for one day, it is still a liquid. I get the feling that testing a diluted chemical in this fashion is pointless. So I'll try taking another angle, so I'll have to delay my disposal for a moment or three.
I'm going to try to boil the water off. If I've got my facts right, I can boil the water off to either leave a trace of GHB liquid or boil it dry if it is 1,4B.
Fingers crossed for an answer.
Well... after doing that. I got some blue stuff still sitting at the bottom of the bowl (I put it in a hand-made ceramic dish inside an oven @ 150 Celcius). Should 1,4B completly boil/evaporate away? What could this be? Should have I used pyrex glass instead?

A blue solid or liquid? thats weird; maybe copper ions present? some weird reaction?
1,4BD boils at 230 degrees so u wouldnt have thought it could boil or even evaporate at 150.
Unless boiling in an enclosed oven causes the whole evaporation process to change.
My physical chemistry is worse than my inorganic so i will resign from offering any tidbits of (mis)information on this one.

Some was hard and the rest was liquidy. So it could very well be blue dye/food colouring.
I let it cool down for a while and dropped a tiny drop of water in so I could concentrate the residue as much as possible. I dipped my finger in and tasted it. I'd hardly say that it came across as salty.
It appears that diluting the liquid makes it very hard to identify. Could filtering the liquid using ordinary laboratory filter-paper work?
And Biscuit... although I'm not sure whether the opening disclaimer lines of the thread is enough (perhaps it isn't and a mod may change it accordingly), but I appreaciate any information.

*chuckle*
Thank swim for the suggestion, but I did utfse. I can find plenty of links to toxicity, trip reports, legal status, dosage or whatever. But not much on purifying what I have.
I saw a post that suggested to filter it out by repeatedly passing it through brita water filters, but I never really got an answer. Of course there are valid chemistry reasons as to why there isn't any recommendations.

Cowboy: If you do get a chance to search there for this topic, and find anything useful could you paste a copy of the info here for those who don't know? Cheers, BT.

maxi: hehe.
yea bt, ive been doing some dreaming and dont want to post something incorrect. ill post it up once ive found an pieced together everything asked in this question :)
