Simple DXM extraction from ROBO?

hi, i was wondering if anyone has come across any "easy" or "simple" TeK's for DXM extraction from robo?

Im trying to avoid having to use chemicals such as naptha and ammonia...

I saw the guide in this forum about boil,filter,dry but was unsure if this would work with robitussin?..

Any help is appreciated...

Yes, i have searched and searched to no avail, most of the TeK's seem to involve chemicals such as those stated above...

Yeah alot of the chemicals are hard to get and from reading it looks like a difficult process. Anyone know of any different extraction methods?

I think its way easier to extract it from sucrets, try googling it.

Ummm those are very easy to find and use chemicals. How much simpler an extraction could you possibly want? Anywhoo the syrup contains a DXM salt in solution so you need to do something like this.

Mix the DXM syrup into some alkaline water. (DXM free base will precipitate out.)
---here you could filter and collect DXM free base
Wash with some sort of immiscible nonpolar solvent (DXM free base will dissolve in nonpolar solvent)
---here you could collect and evap nonpolar solvent to collect DXM free base
Wash with acidic water (DXM will form salt and dissolve in water)
---here you could collect and evap water to collect DXM salt

Naptha and ammonia hydroxide just happen to be an easily available nonpolar solvent and basic solution.
I don't know how you are going to get any easier than this?
