Side effects, withdrawal or just ill?

Last night I took 50mg promethazine, along with my biggest ever dose of codeine, 180mg.

About half an hour after I took the codeine I had the WORST dry mouth ever. I kept on drinking but when I stopped drinking the dry mouth returned. I also started to develop an extremely sore throat, it hurts to swallow.

This morning I have an extremely painful throat, mouth is still dry, I have an awful headache, feel achey, and a cough with some mucus.

I've never had anything like that before after taking codeine? Is it side effects of such a big dose? Or is what I've woke up feeling like withdrawal? Or am I just ill regardless of codeine?

Do you usually take promethazine? Dry mouth is a common side effect of anticholinergics like that, if you don't often take it would be worse than usual.

Yeah I've always taken promethazine with codeine.

My tolerance to codeine has built up slowly. So I don't think its that. It's not like I was taking 30mg and then Decided I'll try 180mg tonight.
