When Will my liver really start to be affected by these Aceto/Hydro pills? I am having sudden "lumps" in hand and feet that my doctor says is a sign of Liver problems (tendons shortening). How can I minimize my health risks because I am pretty sure do to Herniated Discs, and Arthritis, that I will be taking these things forever!

The recommended max daily dose of acetaminophen is 3500 mg /day. I don't know if you can do 3500 mg everyday long-term without damaging your liver or not. If you're needing that much norco or perc then I would ask your doctor to switch you to Roxicodone (instant release oxycodone w/out tylenol) or OP 40 or OP 80 mg ( controlled release oxycodone w/out tylenol).

The FDA recommends you limit acetaminophen intake to 4 grams every 24h.

Toxicity from "plain" opioids is very low in comparison.

If you suspect you have liver problems, ask your doctor to run blood tests. Generally liver failure/dysfunction is pretty easy to notice (malaise, change in body odor/fluids, jaundice/yellowing of skin, eyes).

This is not really an advanced question, moving to Basic Drug Discussion.

^^

As mentioned extract the APAP from the hydro/oxy or see if you can get your doctor to prescribe you narcotics without tylenol combinations. If you are already having liver issues you may want to look into changing your diet, increasing your water/hydration intake and avoiding taking NSAID's of any kind while on tylenol-combined narcotics...
