Sick off Ambien??

I've been prescribed Ambien 10mg and told my dr. 1 at night wasn't really cutting it. He said I could take 2 tabs at bedtime if need be but of course my insurance did not cover it, but I went ahead and took 20mg anyways. I ran out early and swear when I do not take it I feel almost dope sick in the morning! Is is possible to experience withdraw symptoms from Ambien?

Yeah anytime you add a powerful substance to your body you are likely to feel 'not right' when you discontinue taking it. Some people are just more sensitive than others.

Yea I hear ambien withdrawl can be very nasty.

It can be so addictive. It makes you sleeps quickly and have good recreational values. I only had one box and I'm happy to not have more !

yeah most Drs will switch you over to the CR rather than double your dose.

If you do switch to CRs I hope your insurance covers it. I remember them being wayy more expensive than generic Ambien non CR

Also ask your Dr about other Z-drugs and hypnotic Benzo's.
There are a plethora of them; it could be that you don't find as many withdrawl symptoms from something like Lunesta or Sonata
