Sick and tired of being strung out on Bupe--Advice please!

when you start thinking about how much it sucks that they don't make you feel high or "good", just remember how shitty it feels to be sick and withdrawing. using that as a comparison, suboxone makes you feel great.

lol true...very TRUE.... but it still sucks..

Bupe dosages aren't determined only by the need to not feel WD's but also to block other opioids. And at high-end doses the ceiling effect comes on where the receptors are maximally stimulated all the time, meaning no uphills or downhills for the patient.

It doesn't logically follow that having receptors maximally stimulated is a good thing for the patient. A patient wants to feel good when taking Suboxone. Making him feel worse by requiring high doses seems unjustifiable to me. A person can take two small doses of bupe per day and not only not have downhills, but also actually have uphills. You can't lose sight of the fact that people on bupe maintenance are less likely to relapse onto other opiates if they actually feel good from their daily dose.

to me, less has always been more with bupe.. i can kick a half-gram a day habit, of good quality gunpowder, on 2 suboxone 8's and a lot of pot... pretty painlessly and easily too.

hey, i went through the same crap i feel for you,i did the methadone thing for 8 months then i was on suboxone for the last 6+years,and your right it sucks at first they tell you and market it as a super drug for getting off opiates.well that just isnt the case but what i did was gave myself a whole 2 months and i was able to go from taking 2 a day to 1/8 of a piece or filmand then when i got that low i would skip a day for a week.no its not 100% pain free but i was able to do it with diarrhea over the counter meds and some sleep med over the counter it wouldnt hurt though if you dr could give you clonadine thats for blood pressure and it really helped me and possibly hydroxyzine for restlessness then ask for dicyclomine for cramping, and all are non opiates so your DR.my be more inclined to write for you.I hope this gives you a little information i wish you the best.Best of luck, peace.JAMES
