I don't have any recent experiences to share. I'm trying to sort a lot of personal stuff out before I venture into the world of psychedelics again. I've had quite a few experiences in the past with various mind-altering chemicals. Before this particular trip, I was very inexperienced. I had only tripped on acid once and drank some shroom tea, but that was a mellow trip. This was far from it.
Prelude to a trip:
At the time, I was living with two female roommates in a pretty nice house. One of these roommates had a friend come over that day. She brought another girl with her, whom we had never met before. I talked to her for a while and the conversation shifted towards drugs, as it always seems to do when I'm talking to a girl of interest. She mentioned that she had a bag of shrooms in her fridge and that she was waiting for someone to do them with her. I told her that I would be happy to do them with her. She left about 10 minutes after that and promised she would be back later that evening.
The madness begins:
5:30 p.m. - She shows up with a Wal-Mart bag, loaded with shrooms and sets them on the table. At this point, I had no idea about measurements or any proper dose techniques. I asked her how many we were supposed to eat. She said, "We'll just split them evenly. You eat half and I'll eat the other half." Turns out she had no idea about proper doses either.
5:45 p.m. - I grab two bags of Peanut Butter M&M's for us to eat with the shrooms. I was dreading the taste, but the M&M's actually made them taste pretty good. It was much later that I realized the taste really isn't that bad.
6:00 p.m. - We are still eating this seemingly never-ending pile of shrooms. At this point I tell her, "I'm starting to feel REALLY weird. Shouldn't we stop? You can always save the rest for later." She replied, "No. We are going to finish these off. You want to have a good trip, don't you?" What guy can argue with that kind of logic coming from an attractive girl? We've been falling for it since the whole Adam and Eve scandal, why stop now?
6:10?? p.m. - At this point, the trip is coming in very intense waves. I polish off the last of the shrooms and M&M's, my mouth in serious need of water. Anything to get rid of the persistent taste of peanut butter, chocolate and shrooms out of my mouth.
She grabs my hand and we go sit outside in my back yard. It seems like I can hear every bug that's out there. The sounds echo inside my head and I close my eyes. Colors and fractal patterns are swimming under my eyelids. I can hear her laughing and I start laughing myself. Every little thing just seemed so silly. I tell her that I can't thank her enough for the shrooms.
6:30 p.m. - We go back inside to listen to some music. I thought we had been outside for hours. My roommate informed me otherwise by asking why we had come back in so soon. It was all I could do to figure out how to get to my room. The walls, ceiling and floor were all intertwining, creating a funhouse of confusion. With the aid of my roommate Jenny, we made it into my room.
From here on out, I can't even begin to estimate what time things were happening. I know I tried in vain to work the cd player, but for the life of me couldn't get it to turn on. I told the girl (who's name I can't remember to this day) "I think the shrooms have replaced my thoughts with paint." It made sense at the time. She laughed, rolling around on the floor.
I yelled out to my roommate, "I'll give you all the money I have in the world if you'll help me get the music!" Jenny comes in and asked me what I wanted to listen to. God bless this girl!! I told her to just push play, because I already had Lateralus in. It was just coming out and I was lucky enough to have gotten it a week before.
The Grudge begins and I lean back, seemingly sinking into the floor. The music is making the waves come on stronger. I don't know how much more I can take! It's so very very very overwhelming. And it only gets more so. I close my eyes and let the madness wash over me. Every pore on my body is pulsing. First, with the music. Then WHOOOOSH!! I felt like my mind and body were no longer in the same hemisphere.
Ticks and Leeches comes on and I open my eyes. The girl is nowhere to be seen. Was she ever here at all, I wonder? I didn't remember her name or even what she looked like. I had a door in my room leading to the outside and noticed it was wide open. I step outside and look around. Impossible. The shadows and the trees were fucking with my head so much. But it felt so good outside. We were two weeks into fall at that point, so a nice cool breeze was practically molesting me. And I was loving it.
I stumbled out and heard a noise to my right. I looked and there she was, squatting in my back yard, with her pants completely off. I told her, "We have a bathroom inside." She ignored me and continued to pee. I managed to grab her pants and coax her inside.
Watching her try to put her pants back on was like watching David Cross in one of the Scary Movie sequels try to climb upstairs with his wheelchair. I would offer to help and she would say, "I can do it! I'm not handicapped!" Then she would lift one leg, completely miss her jeans and fall to the floor. After she knocked my stereo over, she finally got the bright idea of laying on the floor and putting them on. She looked at me and told me, "I can kill with the best of them. I have no problem with that! Fuck with me and see!"
The vibes were bad. My stereo was still playing my cd, only it was all on the floor. Wires and speakers were littered across my room. I stared at my Tool poster and was lost in it. I felt that if I reached my hand out, I could go into it. The depth was amazing.
She mumbled something and I looked at her. She had managed to get her pants on. My roommate later told me that they were on backwards. That explained the crazy way she was sitting. I looked into her eyes and was terrified. I can't really put it into words, but I saw, felt, tasted, and smelled evil coming from her. Her eyes and face were the only things I could really focus on. Then a crazy thought struck me. What if she's a demon? What if she tricked me into taking the shrooms so she can have my soul? She started crawling towards me, laughing. Her face was nothing more than purple veins that pulsated and dripping with what looked like snowflakes. Her eyes were gone. Am I already in Hell, I thought?
I remember telling her I had to go to the bathroom and stumbling out of my room. My roommate told me I came in her room and said, "I'm going to Hell, Jenny! She's coming inside!" Jenny thankfully interpreted that as me wanting the girl to leave. The girl had been dropped off. Even if she had driven, devil or not, I wasn't going to let her drive. Who am I kidding? At the time, I would have driven to get away from her.
Exorcising the demon:
We get her into the car and drive her home. I didn't know at this point, but it was around 11:30 p.m. Jenny told me later. We get her to her apartment and she wants me to come up with her. I can't even look at her! I told her I had to go to work early that morning and needed to rest. She gets out and screams at the top of her lungs, "Fuckerssssssssssssssssssss!" My roommate floors it and we get the hell out of there.
The ride to and from was crazy. I couldn't make sense of how Jenny could drive in this madness! It was snowing outside. Well, in my head it was. Each flake was glowing a bright white light. The streaks they left in their wake remained in the air. The shrooms were no longer waves, but an ocean of insanity. I just wanted it to stop. It was beautiful at times, but it was just to much!
She drove to a friend of hers who had some Xanax and I gave her my wallet to buy a few. Some for her too, of course. Her friend, who I didn't like, came out there and started fucking with me because he knew I was tripping. We quickly left again.
Finally! Peace of mind:
She drove us to her parent's house. They were out of town and she was going to stay there for the weekend. About 30 minutes after eating around 6mg of Xanax, I slowly started to feel real again. The mixture of the two was so euphoric. Swirls and patterns continued to flow around me, but a calmness came over me. It was unlike anything I had ever felt before.
Jenny's dog, Peanut, came up to me. Normally, this dog is my Newman to his Seinfeld. I hated him and the feeling was very much mutual. But he seemed to sense my situation and sat down beside me. I picked him up, gave him a big hug and felt nothing but love for Peanut. My memories are very fuzzy after that point.
In conclusion:
My roommate Jenny was my saviour that night. I will never forget what she did for me. We don't talk anymore, which is a shame. I really loved that girl. She was a really great friend. I never heard from devil girl again. I was thankful for the shrooms, of course. If I had known about bluelight at that time, the night might have turned out much differently. But it was what it was and in the end, it was heavenly.
