Shrooms, Mexican, 1st time / Into the music

Hello BL-ers,

this is my tripreport on one of the most amazing experiences I have had in my life.
I will try to keep it readable and not too long, and try to keep it as chronological as possible.
English is not my first, so excuse the wording.

Previous drugs: 3 times pure MDMA, 50 mg.

The plan...

I have walked around with the thought of taking shrooms for a long time.. the mystique around it intrigued me, and after reading a bit about it and talking to some people about the do's and don'ts, I decided that this time was right..
The weather was beautiful, I would have plenty of time to sleep in the next day, and I felt great.
I had set a couple of rules for myself that I wanted to follow, especially preparation wise..
Empty stomach, didn't eat from 14:00.
To be alone, but tell a friend that I would do it, just in case I wanted to talk to somebody.
To have a clean house, with the telephone unplugged.
I also locked my front door but left the keys in the lock so I would have no problem finding them..:)
Put a large glass on the kitchen sink, with two 1000 mg vitamin C 'bubble' tablets next to it, to kill the effects if I wanted to.
Also had some breadrolls and other light snacks ready in case I would get hungry.. And trust me, at that point I WAS!! :)

Took the mushrooms, the Mexican type, fresh, at 20:00 exactly. 15 Grams weighed, two stems and a small piece. Took one and tried, excitement rushed up to my spine just from the thought about what would happen. The taste was fresher and more pleasant than I had expected. Quite neutral, with a slight 'earthy' aftertaste. Chewed it, left it in my mouth about two minutes to have it taken up by my mouth 'tissue', and repeated that with the second one and the small piece.
At this point, I thought I would build in a little mental escape, so I took a piece of paper and thought of the nicest place I had ever been to, and wrote the name of it down. Also the name of a very special and beautiful girl I know very well.
Then the waiting game started. I walked around a lot, sorting CD's I wanted to listen to and set the temperature in the living room a bit higher, since I was quite cold. I decided I should put on some socks :), and that I wanted a matress in my room. Went upstairs, and got one..
Put DIDO in my cd player, since that is one of my favourite CD's that I know through and through.

First alert..

Well, it came fast.. after about 10 minutes.
The overall colour balance shifted to a slight red, gently reddening the white walls and my overall view. This was persistent, but seemed to fade slightly when walking into the kitchen, where the light was a bit harsher.
I felt nothing at that point.

Until exactly 20:35, when cold rushes and a feeling of slight panic started to come over me.. Nothing scary, very neutral.
The transition that followed was mild, exciting and beautiful, with only occasional hints of negativity.. thinking about some things that bothered me.. But those moments lasted minutes, or less..
The feeling of hunger that had been with me since the afternoon was present, and slightly distracting, but I feel it contributed greatly to the clean feeling I had inside. Nausea was there, but only 5 percent on a scale of 100. Neglectable..

Then came the most incredible sensation of that night.
The pitch of the music suddenly seemed to go down gradually, from 1 to 1/4 in what felt like a couple of seconds.. with small steps, about 6. I focused on this effect and at the same time my hearing became incredibly spatial.. This was surround sound 'au naturel', with incredible clarity.. It reminded me quite a bit of the MDMA spatial effect, but with a definitive time slowing.. And trust me (for someone who has never had this effect), it's beautiful and fun to be able to dive so much into music and experience every segment of a song, all the sounds, all the tones, the bass, the strings, the volume (I turned it down a couple of times) and of course the voice.
The voice, for me as a guy at least, of DIDO is so gorgeous, and to be able to enjoy every word as if it's 'there' for hours is amazing.
Some thoughts I had when those things were happening: 'I wish she was here with me' and 'I finally really understand the lyrics now'..

The visuals..

It started with some mild tracers and 'stayers', looking at things and seeing that they stay in your eye, and just a more pronounced colour defenition. Now with more blue next to the reddening I already experienced earlier.
Well, then I got up and walked around and looked at the patterns in my room... without getting into too much detail, this is how I saw it... like looking trough a raster, an extremely thin layer of glass that changes everything you see. I have some 'woven' patterns in my house and they shifted continuously, like looking at an old 8 mm film that is running near a TL tube, just short of synchronized, so the frames seem to be slowly running in one direction.
The curtains were shifting continuously, and my vision seemed slightly clouded and sometimes out of focus.
I went trough about 3 cd's, one of wich was a lounge/trance mix, that seemed to be written for things like this..:)
Then I put in Norah Jones, and ok...

Please, I you ever try shrooms and you know Norah Jones, listen to it..

The Piano!! How beautiful something can be!! It's the most amazing thing I have ever heard.. All detail on the recording is revealed, I again seemed to be able to feel what she was trying to expose and say with the lyrics.
The time slowing was very present again, coming through in waves.
This wave pattern accompanied the whole experience, having me bend over in complete extasy, and sometimes gripping my emotions and exposing some things that I go trough in daily life.
Laughter was a freeing emotion, at one time putting me to good tears almost.
My body felt extremely relaxed, but one thing..

The Jawclench...

This was very pronounced.. I was much more aware of it than with the MDMA, but then those MDMA dosed were relatively small and not taken on an empty stomach.. (don't get me wrong, the MDMA times were =D =D 8o )
But it's something that I had not anticipated.
Being linked to the serotonin-sensitive nerve in the jaw it was to be expected, but I guess I had overseen that one.

The moon...

At about 22:00, I walked to the kitchen and opened up the windows to look outside. This was amazing and very, very relaxing. To see nature, feel the fresh air, look at the stars trough the clear sky, hear the sounds (and fortunately also the quiet) and be yourself.. it's heaven.
And the moon.. please, if you every try shrooms, look at the moon..:)
I think I stood there, sometimes pretty frozen and focused on a detail, for about 15 minutes.

The Call...

Well, I called my friend at about 22:15, since I really felt at that point that I wanted to share all this. It was a great and spirited conversation with a lot of laughs and no negativity.
We talked and I enjoyed, and I put two breadrolls in the oven.

The End...

I wanted to go and walk outside and decided to take the 2000 mg vitamin C and eat a bit, to kill the trip.
I felt the first hint of repair at 22:43 and put on my coat.
The walk outside was one of the most rewarding ones I have had in a lifetime, every now and then checking my eyes in the glass of the storewindows, and headed for the center to have a drink. I sat down on a great terrace, heated by those radiators that they hang up, and ordered a soda with a lot of ice..
Tipped 5 bucks.. ;)

The next day...

No residue, no tiredness, just great

Well, to sum it up..
This was beauty all over, revealing, enlighting and it made me experience music like never before.

If you ever try, please don't rush anything and make sure you are totally comfortable with all details.
Have some escapes and if you take fresh mexicans don't take more that 15 grams the first time, it was just perfect for me.

I'll be back..

=D

Cheers

Sounds like a great first trip. Mushrooms are also a great psychedelic to start on (although I tried lots of others before I had the chance to try shrooms, nonetheless shrooms are my favorite!)...

Glad you had a good time and got so much out of a low dose.

BTW... for future reference... Vitamin C will not abort your trip. What you were probably thinking of is Niacin. For me Vitamin C has no effect on my trip, but people take it with claims that it will either "make the trip more visual" or "take the edge off the trip". As far as I know all that it does is protect your brain cells and help your immune system. However you can read about the "Niacin abort" which has success at least with LSD.

Sounds like a great trip.
My first experience was camping in the hills.
Aand ever since then i can't bring myself to stay indoors i must get out with nature.

this gives the greatest feeling of peace you feel at peace with the world and in harmony.
I bet you will be doing them again.
shrooms are my favorite drug almost too good!

Thanks for the replies..

The vitamin C advice came from an experienced 'shroomer' but I guess that he may have meant it as a neuroprotective measure..
The eating must have done the trick.

Anyway,

I will be back, without any possible doubt.
Next time I will have someone special join me though, for sure.

C ya!

The only thing that kills a trip is time. :)

Thanks for posting your experience, I enjoyed reading it!
