shrooms and stomach discomfort

So I've tried dry shrooms chopped up with a knife, on an empty stomach.
Out of maybe 10? times with this method, I've had stomach discomfort twice (felt like vomiting for 3 hours but never did), and incredibly bad stomach cramping (thought I was going to die).

Because the stomach pain is so unpredictable, I've been making shroom tea instead, with no stomach discomfort. Unfortunately 4 grams feels more like 2.5 grams, and quite frankly is a waste of $

I'm wondering what would happen if I took the shrooms and ground them up very finely in a coffee grinder. Would it be like the shroom tea where there is no discomfort? I'm hesitant to try.
Maybe due to the small particle size, it would pass through the stomach a lot quicker? Just grasping at straws here

Any input is appreciated
 
Make a shroom slurry...

Take the mushrooms a little water, then blend them...

Drink this... It won't have a pleasing texture in the mouth but will stop the chunky discomfort in the stomach...


the small nutribullet type blenders are perfect for this type of thing.

They get it very liquefied... It's like a mushroom soup.
 
To avoid puking or stomach discomfort fast for at least 4 hours before taking them, and drink some ginger tea or ginger mixed with hot water and honey with them.

If you don't like the taste of them dried, grind them into a powder and put them into gelcaps. Or friends of mine would blend them into a daiquiri or smoothie without alcohol with fruit, and drink them that way.
 
I've noticed fair bit of discomfort and nausea comes from dried/semi-dried mushrooms eaten raw. IMO this comes from them re-absorbing liquids in your stomach and bloating. Tea completely bypasses this.

i don't like the taste, but it's *bearable*... the problem is what happens after in the stomach
i've tried the fasting + drinking ginger tea / chewing on ginger root, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't ...

sorry psychedelicjay, the shroom soup sounds absolutely disgusting :(

so you're saying even if the shrooms were ground up very very finely in a coffee grinder, they would still absorb enough water and expand, causing stomach problems?
 
In my experience nothing has helped consistently curb the nausea on the come up of mushrooms. I've tried making tea, grinding them finely, and taking all sorts of antiemetics but still puke most of the time. Making a tea with ginger has worked better than other things I've tried, but I've still had trips with this method where I get unbearable motion sickness as soon as I slip into the psychedelic state. I don't think it's psychosomatic either. Maybe it has more to do with the strains.
