(Keep your head up even when it’s raining
Unafraid of who you really are
Come to terms with that loss of innocence
Unfold yourself and smile again)

When she was younger than now
The bombs they made blew her up
Shrapnel wounds never heal
Left her oozing saline

Flash forward ten years
And she’s broken like a toy
He bruised her once again
Opened up the wounds

When a ten year old girl
Thinks she the devil incarnate
There’s got to be something wrong
Is it the world or the girl

She cradled her head in her hands
With her heart on her sleeve
With her sleeve pulled over her fist
Fist rubbing tears from her eyes

For every word they ever said
She finds shrapnel in her side
For every punch or kick or curse
She finds shrapnel in her brain

this is sad, i am assuming it is about abuse,,,,

it leaves such a scar on our grating system of life.
