Television Shows you just "dont get" or just dislike

i do not get david letterman. i college, i think i was the only person who hated his show. i don't care to watch him throw shit in water to see if it sinks. and his babbling with paul is unamusing too.

family guy - one of the unfunniest shows on tv. whenever im at my friends house he wants to watch it, being the kind of person who doesnt like to object to suggestions given by my host, ive been skeeved into watching it more than a few times. every time it gets less and less funny.

mind of mencia - wow, if i had a dollar for every joke that carlos mencia told that didnt make me laugh, i could retire. a mediocre punchline is still just a mediocre punchline regardless to how loud you scream it. he tries too hard to be offensive and not hard enough to be funny.

futurama - it just doesnt do anything for me. i wont say i HATE it, but it REALLY is uninteresting and anticlimactic 30 minutes at a time.

american idol - omfg i hate this show. when you can take the WORST singer to appear on the show (ie. william hung) and have him turn around and sign a high dollar contract for a record company to release a shitload of COVERS sung equally as crappily as his performance on the show and actually SELL however many hundreds of thousands (or whatever) of albums to assholes willing to buy it... you should abstain from the world of entertainment because not only are you not supplying the country with any more talent, youre actually draining its artistic integrity.

mad tv - utter shite.

though my opinion cant mean MUCH cause i absolutely LOVE the simple life (and not just because i think paris and nicole are hot, but because i genuinely love the show! i own the first 3 seasons on dvd hehehe) and most HORRIBLY shitty reality shows (well i cant say that i LIKE them, but i am constantly drawn to them and find myself watching them quite often) including all horribly shitty dating shows such as: next, elimidate, room raiders, dismissed, blind date, etc. its horrible i know, but they keep me coming back.

oh yeah, and i dont take time out of my day to sit down and watch it or anything, but i actually kind of enjoy everybody loves raymond. though like someone mentioned earlier, his brother is completely annoying. i cant stand that guy, and now he's got his own fucking show 'the newlyweds' or whatever its called. that looks absolutely dog balls shitty.

What is it that's entertaining about this show? I watched it this weekend for the first time and I was captivated by it. And now, I couldn't possibly explain why.
 
I admit to watching Everyone Loves Raymond but it REALLY pisses me off that he is so fucking pussy whipped by his MOM give me a break, makes me want to go through the tv and slap him!

Well, Personally, I have always been a fan of the Hulkster ever since his prime back in the WWF in the 80's. So for me it's kinda amusing to watch him in his personal life. I can't explain why I like so much. I normally hate these kind of shows but for some reason I like this one. Plus I'd bang his daughter and wife silly.
 
anyone seen two-a-days? i am watching it right now...ugh, terrible. it is a reality TV show on mtv about an alabama high school footbal team and the town and girls that worship it:p

Why does everyone hate the Raymond show? I can't tell you the number of times I have laughed myself to the floor watching it. It's a traditional sitcom, one of an unfortunately dying breed. I just look at some people who can't see the humour of it and I just want to go ARE YOU WATCHING THE SAME THING I AM. The show even got better in it's last seasons, which is a remarkable accomplishment in television....
 
i dont get 'the 4400'. actually, i think i get it and i dont like what i get. ok, so i dont watch it really, but from what i've seen its silly. it seems like the way it was written, the writers can change emphasis on plotlines whenever they want because the only premise of the show is that there were 4400 people abducted and they all came back with special powers 'somehow'. somehow it became some kind of cult were all of them follow some leader, and whatever powers they have can be bottled and placed into a syringe to give others powers too? and there some kind of ray that can block these powers? dont get me wrong, i love psuedo-science, but psuedo-science has rules that it has to stick to, but not on that show.
i mean you take something like the x-men, and thats fantasy too, to the point of absurdity, but its cool because they have morality and theres spectacular things going on with colorful costumes and all that make the ridiculousness of it all fun. 'the 4400' wants all that fantasy, but they strip off all the colorfulness and see how the people deal with their abnormal powers, which is acually boring. its more realistic because it shows how real people in real life would deal with meta-humans, but since theres nothing colorful to distract you you really see how laughable super powers are.
also, if you made a drinking game and had to take a drink everytime someone said 'im one of the 4400' or 'he's one of the 4400' or 'the 4400' you would be trashed after 25 minutes....
 
I didn't "get" the Family Guy for the longest time until I read it was produced for MadTV. The show is pure skit, nothing more, nothing less.

I can enjoy the show knowing that.

Shows I Don't *Get*... I don't get why people watch them and why it's popular, I don't get the concept (ie. before my time), or the show just plain blows... (Judging Amy)

a bunch of my friends were into this show and it was totally lost on me. i rented some of the episodes on dvd and sent half of them back without even watching them. it really sucked that bad. several of my homies even cried at the finale from what i understand... wtf.

and +1 on Lost... last spring the Scripps National Spelling Bee was on during the finale and was super pissed that I couldn't watch the bee!
