showering

Im sorry, but how can one not shower for more than 2 days? Especially in a relationship, if you're a girl, how do you let your man go down on you if you haven't showered and aren't clean? Girls can get nasty down there if not showered for even a day, especially during the summer .. I can't imagine life without at least 1-2 showers/day and I am not a clean freak. I don't need to wash my hair daily, but I will wash my full body every day. And if I know Im supposed to meet up with my man I shower right before that ... I can't even enjoy sex if I haven't showered since the morning or the night before, I need to shower before we fuck LOL ... IDK ... life without showers, baths, shampoo, body wash, soap and deodorant would suck.

Daily!!!!!! You need to wake up in the morning too besides that you need it-and at night is the most necessary requirement!

Even if you don't have a relationship per se, you have a relationship to yourself, and if you don't shower, you stink in a few hours. Chemicals and perspiration sebaceous secretions and dead skin to say the very least, yaack! You will not feel good with yourself, and drenches your energy down too!!

I believe moderation is key, for most everything in life, showering included.

If you shower too frequently, you may dry out your skin (depending on the kind of water you have) or your hair.. not to mention, its just a waste of time, water, and soap. Over washing your face can actually MAKE you break out more too.

On the other hand, yeah, if you allow yourself to get too dirty you could get infections "down there" or in cuts on your skin. You'll smell, feel gross, etc. Not washing your hands enough definently spreads germs as well.

I don't know an exact number or frequency of showers that is good for each person- we are all different, have different lifestyles, live in different climates, etc. What you have to do is gauge your health and comfort.

I remember counselors at summer camp as a kid that were total hippies- they didn't shower for weeks, they'd just dread their hair and jump in the river when they got dirty. It worked for them I guess because they still properly cleaned their hands and such before eating, after using the bathroom, etc.

Just do what's best for you, long story short :D

I rather have dry skin and use lotion than stink or look messy. And not showering about every other day is worse for you than showering too often (this depends on what cleaning shit you use, don't use tile cleaner to wash your body duh (exaggerating), invest in some decent products)... the oils that your skin produces mixed with dirt and dead skin clogs your pores and this leads to breaking out and other infections more than over-washing.

Showering once/day and exfoliating once/week (with a sponge or luffa or scrub etc) is perfect IMO. You don't need to wash your hair every day, I only wash mine every other day unless I did physical activities that made me sweat or if I feel it needs washed.

People who don't shower or don't feel the need to shower (when showers are available at least every other day) are dirt-balls IMO ... srsly ... "I don't feel like I need a shower" is a way of saying "I'm too fucking lazy to take a shower"
and you sound like washing your hands is enough for a basic hygiene.

Sticking up for people who don't shower is why public transportation still stinks.
Sorry if I cam off as a bitch, but showering should be a basic step in making the world a better (smelling) place. It's rly not hard, try it.

Ummm I do shower, thanks :\

You don't need to tell all this to me. I shower daily and wash my hair at least every other day, or once a day if I exercize. I like to smell good and feel clean just like you do.

But the OP clearly doesn't have this luxury, and I am merely trying to point out that as long as he gets enough showers to maintain his health and feel comfortable, that that's what is most important.

I really don't think the world is such a horrible place just because some people don't shower as often as you might like them to.

My sister has some friends in the punk/'traveller' scene who refuse to shower, for whatever reason, even if it is available. I could never wrap my head around that ideology. People who have an ego about their lack of showering and feel the need to project their stink onto other people, under the guise of 'countercultualism' really annoy me. At least that aspect of them does. I appreciate that I can take a shower daily, and like to feel clean, I keep my hygiene and life-politics separate. If a shower is available, I will utilize it at least once a day.

That said, when i am in situations where showering is unavailable, or have to skip a day, it doesn't really bug me, and I quickly adjust to that 'grimy' feeling upon waking up. I would be lying if I didn't appreciate the smell of my pits every now and then..lol. they smell like coffee. women in my past have expressed similar sentiments....

Whattya guys think about bathing outside of traditional shower stalls/bathrooms. Like when you're camping and whatnot. Ocean bathing is fun and refreshing, but the salty water usually leaves me feeling a little less clean.
I wish I had a natural fresh-water source, such as a waterfall or river in my backyard that I could bathe under.

The rain is so good to bathe in. This is the season in our country to be outside with soap and shampoo once it starts pouring! You can store rain water covered for this purpose, just put some vegetable enzymes in once in awhile to keep it fresh.

The ocean is wonderful as well, I've stayed on islands with no water (only the drinking water we brought) so a dip in the ocean was all we could do to clean up. Our hair got all dry, but we were nice-smelling all the time. I did get in a "crevice wash" everyday with fresh water and castile though, which means your pits, groin, toenails, behind ears and knees :)

When in dire extreme situations (extended vacations in the middle of nowhere, getting stranded), I use an old-but-relatively-clean piece of clothing to dab water and take any dirt off. I have used mixtures of water and vodka or comparable spirits ;)

I've been a few weeks without showering (I washed my hands and face and vag frequently still) when the boy and I were on the street, but I now shower every day to every other day if I don't feel like it. It feels so gooddddd to be clean! I don't know how I lived before.

^^Haha that has happened to me too....actually, during those times when I couldnt shower daily before (on the road, etc) I would always make sure to still wash DOWN THERE (with soap and everything) and wash my face and hands always. Not showering doesnt necessarily mean I dont wash the other bits on a regular basis (unless there really isnt any water...thank GOD thats never happened yet).
