Hello.

A bit of background: I had never taken drugs until I was prescribed gabapentin for my foot. I noticed its recreational effects and so..every few days would take about 1200mg. All was well, until I found out about research chemicals. I then took some etizolam, had a blackout and...well found it to be a waste.

From reading through on here, I noticed that heroin seems like a powerful yet euphoric drug. You see, I'm very a very dull person. I have a regular job, no hobbies, not many friends, and I'm just....existing. I feel like my sole purpose in life is just to pay taxes, and I'm tired of it, I want to experience something beautiful, something mind blowing. I've never been in love, cant have sex etc...and heroin seems like its better than all of this....

However, I know it's a potent opiate. I know it causes addiction and destruction, but i have heard of people who haven't become junkies. I just want to experience great feelings....so to those with experience, is this a good idea?

Hey there!

To be honest with you, I was in the same boat (not exactly but we all have issues / sad things in life / etc) and I did turn to drugs. If you really want to try something in the opiate category it is strongly recommended to start with something other than heroin.. I mean it's not like roxy 30s or other forms of oxycodone are weak, its just that heroin is a whole different ball game.

It is easy to get addicted to any opiate, in that you always want something stronger. Heroin is different than pills in that you don't know what dosage you are really getting.. hell you don't even know your getting heroin. Of course theres always the chance of moving on to needles with any opiate which is again a whole different thing that you never want to fuck with.
To be honest there are so many reasons not to get into heroin that I can't even list them. Would I give back all the fun times / nodded out nights I had on dope / pills? No. Would I rather I never knew about opiates at all? Absolutely.

Good luck and be safe. I see your in London..could you maybe start with a pack of codeine pills and do a cold water extraction? That might be something good to try as you don't seem to have a tolerance.

Ahhhhh fuck....really?

I know life is dull sometimes. that's just the way it is for most people. When you're young everything is new and exciting...When you come of age and leave home, go off to school or whatever, get laid for the first time, life is exciting!

Once you hit about 22 or 23 you realize you're not a kid anymore and you wonder just what the fuck to do with your life...That is of course assuming you didn't get knocked up/end up knocking someone up, end up dead or in prison or live in a third world country where you don't have the luxury of wondering what you want out of life because you have to worry about things like getting enough to eat, obtaining fresh water and avoiding getting killed by the rogue criminal groups wandering around near your village! The dilemma whether or not to use heroin is a first world problem!

Heroin is not a drug that will bring fun, excitement and meaning to your life.

You say you're a dull person....well, heroin will make the even most energetic, exciting person dull and despondent, except when they're trying to obtain more heroin! Of course, jonesing for heroin doesn't exactly make you exciting, "desperate and crazy" is more the words I would use!

It's a good high, and for someone with a lot of stress and anxiety or someone who's naturally high-strung it can kind of balance that out, but there's a lot of things that can balance that out that aren't nearly as dangerous or addictive...Maybe heroin seems to have a certain allure to it because of how it's portrayed in certain books and movies but it's not a glamor drug, it's not even very interesting, it just numbs you to the core and makes you not care...

You don't want to start using heroin...From what you say, it doesn't sound like what you're looking for in a drug anyway. There's a very high likelihood of becoming addicted, and if you're not very experienced with the street drug-culture and dealing with people, it's a very rough transition to go from where you are to using heroin. You have no idea what you're getting into...when I got into heroin I wasz already using a bunch of other shit and I looked at heroin as just another drug, which it wasn't! I went from being a social butterfly who loved hanging out with people and going out to a recluse almost overnight!

If you don't know anyone who has it, doing it occasionally and finding someone to buy it from could be a huge hassle....and if you get into it, your whole life becomes connected to a very seedy, bleak criminal underworld....not to be mistaken for an exciting, fun criminal underworld like LSD or Ecstasy!...which brings me to...

why don't you try going out and meeting people and trying something that will actually give you perspective on your life? Like mushrooms or LSD....It sounds like you're lonely and slightly depressed, I know how that feels...believe me, friends are what you need, not heroin! I could go over all the bad things that could happen, but that's plastered all over BL so there's no need... Maybe you just need a change in career or scenery...quit your job, move away, join a cult that worships ancient Egyptian deities...but don't start using heroin! I'm not sure ANY drug is even the answer for you....Drugs are never THE answer to anything. Certain drugs can help with certain things and maybe enhance your life, but you still have pilot the ship and go out there and live it! Becoming a drug user is not hard but living day to day as an addict is one of the most difficult, time consuming, dangerous life-styles out there...not everyone's cut out for it! Maybe nobody's cut out for it....

Well, once again I'm up all night watching movies, playing old school NES and always having BL opened in another window...while my girlfriend sits in the next room watching either girly TV shows I can't stand or you-tube videos about strategies for dying your hair in different ways...I have time on my hands to answer another one of these questions is what I guess I'm saying!

I second the "heroin is a first world problem" comment. It really is... until the only money you have goes to dope then you look like a third worlder with nothing to eat because your broke.. so you steal bread.. then steal electronics or other expensive goods for your habit.. generally ending up in jail or ripping someone off and dead.

To be honest the whole junky stereotype can be pretty true in many cases.. don't get me wrong I know some h users who are great people, love their family, etc.. and I know a TON TON TON of junkies who are fuckin lowlife steal anything you have rip you off sons of bitches.

Heroin isnt what you're looking for. It's not gonna blow your mind, honestly it will be pretty disappointing. You're looking for a drug like lsd. You have to be very careful w/that too though. (need a lot of self confidence, calm mind-no fear)

Also, eventually heroin will make it so you can't feel anything. (except the pain of withdrawal)
You will find no joy without it.

If you're really being serious about this try something like vicodin.

You're in the U.K right? Isn't codeine over the counter there? If so, might wanna look into that.

And listen to BlueHues...quality post. Ha, we were both thinking lsd/mushrooms. If you're looking for a good drug Experience those are two choices better than heroin imo.

Closing this repeat thread because it's basically a complete copy of This thread. You're going to get the exact same answers in this thread that guy got in his, "is starting heroin a good idea?" thread.
