Hi. Should I use drugs? I'm 14 years old :)

I would like to try Salvia and Hawaiian baby woodrose.
Umm... I would like to take Happy Caps - Trip E too :)

Should I? Any ideas?

Well, it's nice that you deem it pertinent to enquire of your peers, and a compliment to us that you value our opinion.

I hope you're thick-skinned, because a few folks here that are quite opinionated when it comes to young people and drugs might give you a hard time.

Here's my thoughts. You use the word the word 'should' a couple of times. Nobody can, or should ;), tell you what you 'should' do.

You can only really enquire of their opinions. You will find they vary. They will range from the sublime to the ridiculous. Some will say no way, that you're too young and that your brain is still growing and that you're going to damage your psychological development. This is a paternalistic approach. It may well be evidence-based. Others will instinctually disapprove. Both approaches have your interests at heart (or so they will tell you).

Others may be reckless or just downright bloody-minded and say just go for it.

And some will say it's not for them to say yay or nay, and that it's up to you.

Do you feel lucky punk - well do ya?

Think for your self, question authority, and above all do your research. Substance use needs an awful lot of discipline - do you have discipline?. They can be terribly seductive. Do you have the experience to avoid being seduced by overwhelming feeings of joy and love - or the resilience to recover from a terrifying experience? Those that do are not necessarily amongst the majority of the population. Humans are not renowned for their will-power when it comes to substance use.

No one will say yes. You're still a kid (then again, I am too, at 18 years). But I know I would have done psychedelics in that age if I had access to them.

This is the worst question you could possibly ask a forum of psychedelic enthusiasts.

Maybe you'll turn out fine, maybe you'll be fucked for life. Who can say for certain? Decide for yourself whether you're prepared to roll the dice.

yo im only 15 and i started doing more harder drugs when i was 14 and i think it kinda fucked wit my head a lil i think styll.

When I was 15 years old I wanted to try LSD, and I only did it 3 years later. I was glad I waited, in retrospect. I don't think I was mature enough at the time to succesfully integrate a psychedelic experience, and to get anything out of it except maybe a nice buzz with some cool visuals or possibly a weird and scary experience. I'm not so sure what the safety of using LSD at this age is, but that is what I was most afraid of.

I am very glad I didn't start using psychedelics at that age, I would have if I could have. as entheodjinn said, nobody can tell you what will happen - it might turn out awful, it might turn out great, it might cause damage...

my advice personally is to reconsider and not take the risk for a few years - it'll be worth the wait. however, at your age I was a heavy drug abuser (everything but psychs) and plenty of people gave me this advice about all drugs. I didn't listen, of course.

trust me on this one thing though... psychedelics are not like other drugs, and they require even more care in my experience.

P.S. you're very mature for coming here to gather information and ask this question, don't let anyone tell you different. no matter what decision you end up making, you did the right thing by coming to bluelight and inquiring. :)

P.S.S. salvia is punishing, if you absolutely have to use a psychedelic drug right now (absolutely won't back down), don't make it salvia. I can't imagine my fourteen-year-old self trying to digest a salvia experience, and I wasn't your "average" fourteen-year-old either...

I must say, if you start using the 'easy' drugs now, where is it going to end? I think if you give your self some more time, to read and learn as much about the psychedelic drugs you will find it much more rewarding in the future. I also believe the sooner you educate your self on the differences and similarities of psychedelics and other drugs, the sooner you will differentiate between what could become a possibly life altering decision and a valuable learning experience.

I just say that because I have known many people who start with Morning Glory then more and more harder drugs. Just make sure, if you do decide to start your exploration at a young age, take some of my advice. Educate yourself as much as possible, especially between the differences of Psychedelics and other drugs. Also educate your self with the drugs you will be taking.

i started at 16 with acid and all ill say is i wish i had waited a few more years. lsd is a pretty heavy drug, at 16 all i wanted from drugs was to get me wasted. thats not a wise thing to do with lsd, it will bite you back.

I would say wait until you are more mature and more developed. There's still plenty a 14 year old can do and learn without psychedelics.

I like the way Lucid Scream put it.

At least don't take MDMA until you are a few years older... in my opinion it can do lasting damage to your mood. You don't want to find out you a bipolar at the age of 20, do you?

As for Salvia... don't you know 99% of people don't even consider this a fun trip? It's actually scary as fuck and will probably turn you off tripping for good.

HBWR... well, the 1st thing I tripped on was morning glories (basically the same trip), but I think I was 17. In hindsight it's a good thing I waited that long or else I'd probably be sleeping in a gutter sucking dick for crack on the side right now..

Mushrooms.... wait a couple years. These guys are serious!

IMO you should start smoking pot around the age of 15 and work your way up slowly from there if you so desire. Skip the hard drugs. peace

You guys are doing pretty good on the answers so I won't even throw in my pathetic attempt but I will comment on this:
Mushrooms.... wait a couple years. These guys are serious!
I am a person who enjoys saliva. I consider myself pretty experienced. One thing I always end up saying on mushrooms is "Fucking mushrooms! Always fucking everything up!". They are serious and do pack a hard punch.

Dude, you really want to wait a few years. I was 14 once and I began my psychedelic research at this age accompanied by Cannabis. This was too young to begin. You will not be able to relate this with your friends for years to come. you will keep it a secret, because hardly anyone else is doing this at your age. I got way too into them and erowid became my nightly reading (rather than homework). Started tripping at 15 on DXM and Mushrooms, 16 introduced Ketamine and Salvia, 17 was year of abusing Ketamine and Mushrooms, 18 was trying LSD and the beginning of the end for my drug use career.

It all went sour very unexpectedly. In all my research I never figured I was one of the people who are predisposed to mental illness, no one in my family has any, and it really slowly crept up on me, LSD exacerbated it and now I'm recovering. I blame starting so young, and becoming so obsessive over the experiences I wanted and wasn't getting, probably due to my immaturity.

Looking back, I'd much rather have taken the risks of physical health with alcohol, or the addiction from opiates, benzos and coke, rather than the mental health problems from psychedelics. You simply can't escape them, and though I realize addiction and physical issues are also inescapable, its a different situation, I feel. Your mind is 'you' your body is not. Being unable to properly feel your emotions, feel connected, feel love and hate, all these things are terrible to lose touch with.

Not that this is what always happens, just saying it happened to me, I started young with psychedelics as my main interest in drugs like you, and I fucked up, now I'm paying the price. The trips I've had weren't worth this inescapable torment, and its not that bad, it's just constant and, I dunno, I don't like tripping enough to be in a semi-tripping state all the time.

Man this post is so shitty, haha, see psychedelics made me feel sketchy and dissociatives made me dumb, but maybe also detached enough to be relatively apathetic when I'm not making post urging people to avoid psychedelic use at too young an age.

I started smoking pot at 15 and using opiates and benzos around 16.

I didn't start heavily using any drug until after I was 18 and I began my experimentation with psychedelics at the age of 19 or 20. Its important to wait. Right now you are young and your brain is still developing give it some time mate.

Your brain is still developing, while it is relatively safe for older people to use psychs like acid, it is much riskier for people under 18-20 to use them. Even weed can increase your chance of schizophrenia. It won't give you brain damage to use acid or LSA at a young age but it might cause permanent harm. There is no definite proof for this (I don't think they can sanction doing a study into it) but I would guess that if weed can cause a problem, harder psychs are more dangerous.

I started when I was a little bit older than you and I can definitely say that using at a young age feels a lot different than using when you're older. So that says something.

I wouldn't encourage you to use it. If you do go against this advice I hope you don't do so regularly (by that I mean more than once a year).

You're going to do what you want to do in the end; but you can NOT think of psychedelic drugs as party drugs. They're extremely powerful introspective tools, and you have to be able to deal with what they show you. If you honestly feel that you're 100% ready to respond properly to the worst case scenario, then by all means go ahead.

Now, I'm definitely not trying to scare you away from psychedelics - I think that psychedelics are essential chemicals for society to progress further, and that most people should experience them at least once in a lifetime. Although I do think that 14 will be too young for most.

When I first tried LSD at the age of 15, it brought up some anxiety issues I'd been having to the forefront of my mind. My anxiety became so present that it was hard to fall asleep at night. After months of analyzing this issue and becoming involved in a sort of self-therapy, and an absolutely earth-shatteringly profound and beautiful trip on LSD, everything became much clearer, and the chemical had ultimately helped me immensely with my issues.

I was lucky, though, and things could have gone in a very different direction. In conclusion I'd recommend to wait another year, and gauge if you're ready.

Peace and love,
TAC

Wait, you have time.

Psychs are serious, and you need to be able to comprehend what is happening and know - know - that it will end.

That being said, dont start with salvia. It too easily takes you into a complete other world, and it can be scary as fuck, even if you are experienced (as I thought I was). And happy caps and Trip E are fako, not worth it. Smoke your herb, read all you can on mushrooms and other psychedelics, then see what you can find.

PS - LSA (whats in HBWR and morning glories) is rough, and its hard to extract it without also getting a number of less desireable alkaloids that will lead to a harsh body load or a bad trip, so stay away unless its your only option

It's never too late to try psychedelics, but it's possible for it to be too early.

I first learned about LSD, mescaline, etc. when I was 13 and thought it sounded really interesting. I probably would have tried them if I'd had the chance too, and I know I wouldn't have been able to integrate such experiences when I was that young and (sorry) immature. I suggest waiting a few years, get something positive out of marijuana and then take the plunge. In the meantime learn as much as you can about psychedelics and anything else that tickles your intellect--when it comes to blowing your mind, it's better to have more of a mind to blow. :)

one thing I would like to say in this thread, just for the heck of it since we're on the subject, is that age does not have all that much to do with maturity in my opinion. I have known 16-year-olds more mature than their 45-year-old parents in some ways. age is about life experience, not maturity, and they don't always go hand in hand. after all, how many adults have you met that conduct themselves in an immature way?

that said though, I stick by my answer, and still think the OP should consider waiting for a variety of reasons.
