Should I take mushrooms before experimenting with LSD?

Hi everyone

I've been very interested in trying LSD for the first time, and while I'm keen to have some of the experiences people have told me about, I'm still kinda scared of it in another way, I'm kinda worried about it fucking me up in some way. Now here's the question for people who are experienced with both Acid and shrooms. What would you say is stronger? in terms of visuals or the effect it has on your mind in general
The three drugs I currently do are Cannabis, MDMA and Ketamine, all slightly halloucenagenic but the strongest halloucenations I've had have been on mdma mixed with Cannabis, I found them pretty fun and interesting, cartoony, nothing intense like I'd imagine I'd get from LSD and shrooms.
Getting round to the main question, would mushrooms be good to take before taking LSD as a stepping stone to get me prepared for acid? Or does it not work like that?

I haven't done LSD but I plan on doing so and I have chosen to take shrooms a couple of times before I go for the LSD. I really had much thinking about what to do first and I chose shrooms.
The main reason for me trying shrooms first is the shorter duration. If you realize you don't like this drug you can just lay in bed for 2-3 hours and wait till the trip eases itself out. LSD having an effect for twice as long isn't so easy to ride out I'd imagine. Another reason for me trying shrooms first is again the duration. I almost never have 12 hours of complete free time with nobody calling me etc (I found calls from sober persons REALLY REALLY disturbing on shrooms to the point where I didn't answer questions and just shut the whole down by taking out the battery because I couldn't shut it down normally since "the whole thing doesn't make any sense to me god what is this thing, what are those icons ???" appeared to me.

I don't know if the same reasons apply to you, but I'm really happy that I tried shrooms first because I was totally being up my ass thinking a hallucinogenic was like every other drug and then the tryptamine madness just fucked me in the ass while I was on a train but thats another story.

I really don't know if my post contributed to any of your questions since you especially asked for someone who already took both substances

i think people with experience in psychedelics will pretty consistently describe mushrooms as a more intense substance with far more potential to rip your psyche in half than acid.

acid is much more lucid, has less odd physical side effects, and is all around more "recreational" until the doses get pretty high. mushrooms, on the other hand, can have you pretty freaked out even at lower doses if you aren't prepared.

i'm somewhat zealous on this point but it just really irritates me to see LSD get a rep. that it doesn't deserve: it is a FAR easier drug to handle than mushrooms, IME.

Couldn't agree more. My first true psychedelic experience (not counting crappy low-plateau dxm) was with 2 strong tabs of acid. After that I tried 2c-e, then 2c-e+LSD+nitrous, and after a few more trips I finally got my hands on some mushrooms.

I've never felt any strong *negative emotions (I have been overwhelmed though) on LSD, and I feel that it's generally easier to keep your head about you than whilst on mushrooms. Mushrooms also tend to induce more confusion/disorientation than LSD ime.
 
it doesnt really matter, at least for me it didnt. I took lsd before I took shrooms, and although the time duration is much longer then that of shrooms, cid is much easier to handle imo. For either of them just make sure ur setting is right, as that will play a big part in how ur trip will go. As for the cid make sure u have a day off from work or school so u dont have to wrry about the world for 12 or so hours. Cid is a huge commitment my friend.Be prepared. Peace and love.
 
I think it depends on the person, I have not done mush LSD but I've had very difficult experiences with both substances. Mushrooms IME have more of an energetic weird earthy science fiction feel to them, whereas LSD seems more smooth and synthetic. But they can both be catalysts for powerful transformative experiences.
