SWIM has been taking 25mg XR adderall to help SWIM study since last Sunday, since Sunday SWIM only got a total of 4 hours sleep until Tuesday because of studying and the adderall wasnt allowing SWIM to sleep, SWIM took about a total 4 pills in total 1 on Sunday 1 on Monday 1 on Tuesday 1 on Thursday (SWIM skipped taking it Wednesday) SWIM is not prescribed to Adderall, SWIM took the pills on a empty stomach each time with tums. SWIM's lack of sleep and adderall abuse caused him to have chest pains at first minor and annoying but then a little more sever worrying SWIM, SWIM's heart rate was highly elevated each time around 120bpm. SWIM also had minor headaches. SWIM did not feel the last 2 pills of adderall he took possibly because of a quickly gained tolerance. On the last dose of adderall SWIM took he was able to fall asleep on it something SWIM could never do on adderall before, SWIM took that last dose to help wake him up for his final but it didnt work. SWIM is feeling better but still kinda feels like crap, now off adderall SWIM 's chest will occasionally hurt a little bit but then feel fine, should SWIM be concerned?

this sounds common. Sometimes your heart will do weird things while on stimulants like chest pain and heart palpitations. One other thing to think about is that it could be heartburn, which can be made worse by smoking, drinking, and I think ive read anecdotal experiences from people saying their heartburn gets worse when they take adderall.. read this post and see if its similar to what your're experiencing.

But to answer your question to see a doctor or not... If you have insurance, why not. ECG's are very quick, and can be done and read within 30-40 minutes. Even if you don't have insurance, they aren't that expensive. I think its responsible for anybody taking a stimulant to have an ECG/EKG done at least once just to make sure your not predisposed to any heart conditions or defects that could lead to something much worse by raising your blood pressure and straining your heart. best of luck!

p.s. I know this is your first post on Bluelight, but please don't use SWIM.. It makes your post hard to read and its not allowed in BL.

I have taken Addy 4 or 5 seperate times last year within a 2 week period & hated them. Made my blood pressure go up & never got that high. I would never pop pills on an empty stomach no matter what others say. Actually, Addys always made me hungry & by the 2nd week, they were putting me to sleep. The heart problem never appeared because I always got sleep. Maybe thats why I never really like stims, like coke & other stuff, I like my sleep too much.

Get sleep and be more careful next time with your stimulent use. As for the doctor, I wouldn't personally worry about it but if you want reassuring that you'll be okay then go have a quick ecg.

Speaking of headaches, I am getting one trying to read the OP. We do NOT use SWIM here, you can check either the BDD guidelines or the BLUA in my signature...please edit your post using "I" so it's more readable and you can get more responses to your question.

I agree that if you're super worried and have insurance, sure go to the doctor. But if not, I think you'll be just fine, adderall is quite an unpleasant drug in my experience so I don't think the chest pains are anything too serious.

Yeah sorry i just copied pasted this from another site and was to lazy to make the changes

That usually happens to me when I take adderall or snort ritalin. I usually just tough it out because it seems to be random and somewhat short, maybe ten minutes. It seems like if you just go through it without worrying the high will be more pleasant.

That's when using 40mgs+ so I don't know what to tell you about lower usage, although I know it is common for people who lack a tolerance.
