I think more and more people are waking up to the fact that most drugs aren't as dangerous as the governments of this world would lead us to believe.

Things are changing... slowly... but I think I'll live to see the abolishment of drug laws.
 
^Canadians? Well... before the US intervened, anyway.

I think people are also beginning to realize that drug/money related violence is around because the government created that black market when they made drugs illegal.
 
All drugs should be legal.

With a little factual knowledge and time for it to become a part of society, things would get alot better than they are now.

I couldn't agree more. I think there would actually be a significant decrease in drug related deaths. Our prisons wouldn't be overflowing with drug offender "criminals" either.

It's so much easier to buy pot, E, 'cid, etc. than it is for a minor to get cigs or alcohol.
 
I definitely agree. Prohibition does not work in the least bit and actually causes more harm.

Why oh why won't the government see it that way? Don't they understand that they could make MORE money by legalizing currently illicit drugs?
 
judging by the research done by ricaurte the US does buy studies that show exactly what they wanted them to show ("OMG XTC WILL KILL YOUR BRAIN AFTER ONE PILL") and acts according to the results that their faked studies show. i would prefer the uk government to the us one. my own government does not even bother with studies. they are too lazy and too busy to get their friends into nicely paid positions to even think about commissioning studies.
 
i think it should be legal, definitely. making it legal wouldn't mean everyone would do it...cigarettes are legal, alcohol is legal, and not everyone smokes or drinks. plus, if it were legal, it could be regulated by the government and you would know exactly what you were putting in your body. and i think what you put in your body is your business...so basically, it should be legal.

Legal or not I can get it at ridiculous low price, if it was legal I would at least be paying some tax for it, now I am just giving my money to the Hell angel

Sorry if I sound like a prick it happend to me sometime:|

I'm just pointing that if the system was working the way it's suposed to, I shouldnt be able to get that kind of drug easilly at a price even lower than a beer, so why keeping it illegal and wasting tax dollar on enforcement of the law when you can regulate it and get tax from the sell. But again it won't happend in canada until the USA do it
 
Well when I was in junior h.s. MDMA was legal and used by therapists. The DEA emergency scheduled it in '85 despite the protests of mental health professionals. Now a group of them is trying to make it legal again. trials have begun and they have even been approved by the DEA/FDA. If you want to know more see MAPS.ORG - if miracle of miracle happens and MDMA is ever legalized it will only be for controlled settings to be administered by mental health professionals in single doses (much like before).
 
hmmm, I was only a baby in the 80's, but i'm sure I remember reading about when E was a legal theraputic drug it was being used recreationally. It used to get sold legally in clubs, then it was banned, and 2C-B was sold as the legal alternative, until that was also scheduled?

maybe when the older politicans die off and the younger, more drug smart politicians get into power weed will at least be decriminalized, and I couldent ask for much more than that. Although it would be ace to buy MDMA from the local head shop it ain't gunna happen, the vast majority of people see Ecstasy as a dangerous drug. Many people see it on EXACTLY the same level as coke, even though the risks involved with both the drugs are very very different. If having an oz of grass in your possesion was legal, I would be very happy. For things like E an trips, 'dealers' are your only option, and thats fine by me.. Sure wish mushies were still legal tho :(
 
No, it should NOT BE LEGAL. It should be controlled by perscription, with harsher penalties for diversion.

Legalization and decriminalization are completely different things.
