I say its overdue.

Lets face it. This place is a dead duck and has been for some time.

There are plenty of regulars in Aus DD that have been calling for a social thread in there for ages and despite how many times they are invited into here.........its not happenning. Mainly because this place is the most boring place on bluelight.

Each of the other "regions" ie the americas and the europeans, have there DD area and social rolled into one and it seems to work perfectly.

Its time for us to do the same and not only will it improve the qualioty of social threads but will also help make bluelighht similar across the board.

A further advantage may well be gained as some of the old members who post in here or visit from time to time may well be encouraged to add there valuable experienced 2 cents worth to the Drug related threads.

AusDD is kind of quiet at the moment too. I don't know if merging the two would necessarily increase the quality of posts though; it'd just make it harder to distinguish between drug & social related threads. It's not really that hard to check & post in both forums.

It sounds like a good idea cause when I seldomly check here (more often lately tho), not much action seems to be happening these days. And I'd throw in my experience in threads in aus DD if it was merged, atm being a daddy I don't have much (any!) motivation to check the aus DD thread, I'm not touching any chems besides my legal ones (thank you oxycontin! heh.. legal use to boot!) so no care about what's going on in their dedicated forum.

I don't think Australian Social and Events is the 'most boring place on Bluelight'. Far from it actually... It has it's slow periods, always has. Hasn't the Bluelight motto always been be the change? The more input people make the more discussion there is. I have noticed that yeah, you do get replies if you post up a bit.

Nothing personal Maz, you have made some good contributions in here over the years.

I think it would be messy, as such, not many members of both forums cross post either.

There are a few, but a small few.

If ausdd was cluttered up with the kinda threads i see here, i'd leave BL for sure.

Ummm NO.

Its an Alasdair quote and not worth the point of posting it IMO.

However I agree that those who say no to the concept should therefore be putting an effort in to make this place a bit more fun to be arround.

No offence taken at all Klue old son and hopefully you also wont take offence when I suggest that endless smile, frown and what are you eating and or drinking threads are pretty useless and really could be better suited to the lounge.

Regards mess...............well it doesnt seem to be messy for the rest of the world who do exactly what I am proposing.

Not only is it not messy but those two regional forums are constantly very busy and its quite noticeable that many friendships and socializing occurs thanks to the way things are set up there. Unfortunately this no longer happens here in the Australian area.

I think we have to accept that times have changed and we need to move with those times or die. Sometimes I pop my head in here and am lucky to find 4-5 new posts a day. And those that are posted are in those facebook "I did a poo poo today" threads.

Anyways, just a thought. Im certainly not going to lose any sleep over it.

I don't think members of either forum would enjoy it. If it's dead in here it's dead. No reason why people should try to liven it up either.

It's a Mahatma Gandhi quote actually... be the change you want to see in the world

Worth discussing, The could be a poll in SUPPORT if it was seriously on the cards. Good point that the other regional forums have merged their social and drug discussion forums, but they both have an events forum. Last time I looked at European and African events, I think there were 8 threads in the total of the whole forum. It's not like this sub forum is the slowest one on Bluelight by a long shot.

I'd like to give a shout out to silentangst and GurnEr JoshE, two newer regulars who have consistently been posting in here the last few months... even in the depths of it's inactivity.

Did you forget something again Maz??? :\
