when i’m cooking up my shot, i use a cotton ball for a filter. i tear off a tiny portion of the cotton ball, but i feel like im never getting all of it out of the filter and i’m wasting it. for example if i mix 30 units of water from the syringe with my coke or anything, the syringe only fills about 10 units. no matter how many different angles or tries i take at it to fill the syringe, i always get less than the amount of water i put it which just makes me think i’m wasting it. any tips? i know there’s things i can buy to filter out bad stuff but i don’t know where to get it and im on a budget so at home cotton balls are my option right now. i use a small amount, do i need to go smaller? or larger? what am i doing wrong??

Cotton balls are pretty loose. I'd even prefer a corner of a cigarette filter if you have one. Or maybe you can figure out a way to roll up the cotton ball tighter.. the smaller the piece the better, as long as the needle doesn't go all the way through. If you roll it in your hands for a couple minutes first then draw up before it has a chance to loosen up again that's what I'd do, but I don't think that would work as well as you'd hope.

Maybe try once, then roll it up tight again and try a 2nd time, and 3rd, all with the same needle for the same shot? Then flip the syringe needle toward the sky and push the plunger in while flicking the barrel to help it drip down until there is no air left. I'd say wash your hands first if doing this cotton squeezing and rolling way.

Cig filter would be better though. But make sure it's very small because those are actually tighter than standard cottons you'd find at a clinic. From a new one I mean, not smoked yet. I usually knew it was pretty much fully drawn up when you hear that succion sound like you just finished a drink through a straw

so if i took scissors and cut like 1/8 of the filter off straight across that should work better than the cotton ball? I just have cotton balls from walgreens cosmetic isle so they’re pretty lose, i try to make the piece small and roll it up tight but yeah i just have been getting shorted with that

also bonus question if you’re able to answer, whats the typical amount of water you use? I always do like 20 or 30 units to cover the powder but i don’t know if there are advantages/disadvantages of using less or more, or if it doesn’t matter at all

I'd just use a small piece of the corner.

Not sure about the second question maybe someone else can chime in. I've never found it mattered, but many people would argue that.

I use q tips exclusively for filtering. You can tear some off and then ball it up tight. You may be making your filters to big and you aren't able to get all the solution.

Go for a small tight ball, I don't usually cook it either just mix with water and stir.

Qtips!!! I've been using the torn off end of a qtip for 20 years, then if you get desperate you tear the needle off of one of your old Rigs and make it press out of it but the Cottons inside the dry syringe a little bit of water and squeeze it down be careful doing that though cuz you might get some of the bad s***
