I am looking for some advice please. I am a CPP and am currently prescribed 2-4mg dilaudid 4 times/day (8 pills daily) and 1 30 mg generic morphine sulfate ER every 12 hours. I have had spine fusion and hip replacement surgery and some other stuff and I can't get rid of the back pain. Anyway, due to some carelessness on my part, I have to cut back to about 6 dilaudid and 1 or 2 morphine sulfate each day for about a week. I go back to the pain doctor and they can do a pill count anytime they want to and I need to have the correct amount or who knows what they'll do. Anyway, I know this isn't like I have to go CT, but do you think I should add some imodium tablets to make up the difference? Or is there anything else that I can add to help with any discomfort I may experience? Thanks for any advice anyone can offer!

I recommend doing a search on the WD megathreads and browing through Other Drugs (this forum). There are many many threads on methods to make WDs easier to deal with. Immodium (loperamide) is very helpful indeed, however.

Just my opinion, but looking at your dose regimen I really don't think you'll experience much discomfort. It's not a huge decrease in your overall usage and it's only for a week. Really, any discomfort will probably be made up with immodium and a good vitamin complex. I wouldn't anticipate much.

What I COULD recommend is to stretch out your Dilauded's longer throughout the day. Try to make it so you're going as long as you comfortably can before taking your next dose, so you're not frontloading in either the beginning or end of the day, possibly setting yourself up for discomfort.

Good luck! I really don't think it'll be too bad.

I halved the dilaudid I have to work with. I don't anticipate anything too bad. Thought if I took some imodium it might make up the difference a little. If I did one day CT I'd be in good shape but I've been taking opiates for 2-3 years and that could be a bad day. btw.....I'm a 57 year old man. Metabolism is a little slower. Thanks for all the input
