I saw some men plant some trees outside the food-court of the local shopping mall the other day,
They attached small labels to their thin branches and an accompanying plaque - was on offer to explain that these plants were an exotic species and it was hoped that one day they would flourish and subsequently provide inspiration for the younger plants of the same species to blossom just like these.
I smiled and walked away, hoping that I could prosper in affiliation with my undying thoughts in the same way these companion trees would.
It was raining on the day that I returned a week later to the same site that had provided me with so much alleviation to find that the trees had been stamped on and destroyed and again the thought of how inane it was for me to suspect that these trees would be given bountiful time to flower came flooding back.
Predetermined at times, though these trees, like my thoughts, were not meant for this world, and conscious am I, like the men who planted them, that they would not augment to work as small and as insignificant as they may seem in comparison to the concrete and plastic alcazar surrounding them.
