Shooting with puddle/toilet/etc. water?

its gross as hell, but theres this lake by the park we always used to go to and we used the lake water one time when we were real in need
 
If you're fiending that bad and can't inject safely why not just put it up your nose or smoke it to stave off withdrawl until you get a clean source of water and/or more drugs?
