I know this belongs in basic drug discussions or something but I don't know how to put it there so I'm sorry feel free to move it. If I had a syringe with blood in it could I use it again later? I use 2 units of water for my heroin and register 1 or 2 units for each shot. If I put in too much heroin could I shoot it later? Or do I need to re filter or something?

To start a thread in BDD its the same as starting one in OD, just do so in the BDD forum... also in the future, if you have any questions just feel free to PM myself or other staff.

I certainly would not shoot ANYTHING that has been left out for any length of of time. I would say if you're intent on using it, you're much better off shooting it into your rectum than putting that petri dish of bacteria into your veins and I would still re-filter it thoroughly. Also, if possible refrigerate it between uses to slow bacterial growth in the shot.

I would really not advise shooting this though.

Yes shooting clotted blood is very dangerous. From the harm reduction view point this is not recommended.

Definitely a bad idea to re-use a syringe with blood in it. It is a bad idea to re-use a syringe period. If you're going to, at least try to clean it. Run some bleach through it and rinse it with water really good. Better yet, drag your ass to the store and buy 10 new syringes. They are cheap as hell anyway, and some places sell single rigs for like 30 cents.

I think that half of you are misunderstanding me. I meant to say: If I put too much heroin in one shot and decide to shoot only half, could I shoot the rest later? I have access to new syringes, just not to free heroin ): shame. Still, thanks for the replies.

the title of the thread is "shooting old blood".

but i would not recommend it, but i guess it depends on how long you are going to wait in between shots. Bacteria and shit will develop more and more as time goes on.

I'm not worried about bacteria since il only be waiting 1-2hrs and I have a fridge. I'm worried about shooting clotted blood.

I never shot & hopefully never will but my friends girlfriend is a nurse & she always says that she tells heroin addicts that come into the hospital to always use new needles because so much bacteria & whatever else may build up can harm you. I know what you're saying but just dont put as much heroin into the needle next time.

^ dude some of the clotted blood is invisible to the naked eye and can get through filters all you can do is plug or snort the solution after filtering.

Oh man, I was shocked when I read that thread title. I strongly advise against it.
I'd start fresh and not use so much this time! Do you normally only shoot half a shot? I don't know a single person that doesn't shoot the whole syringe in one go.

^ i use to do the same thing.. id be at work and id need to do several shots over the course of the day and i just didnt have time to keep mixing and preparing more shots. so id prep big shots and use them like 3 times over the course of the day. it always sketched me out but i was pretty self destructive back then and i did what i had to do. :\

but yea, keeping any prepared shot for a period of time seems kind of sketchy.. even when there isnt blood in it. its better to prepare your shots as needed.

I shoot as much of my shot (until now always all), until I feel comfortable. I don't want to od and it may happen in the future that I have too much smack in my barrel.

i would also think that although refrigeration may help to an extent, it would not completely halt the growth of bacteria. i really don't understand why this is so often considered... this isn't the first thread where someone is asking how to save their half used/cooked shot :/ just use less??? or, do a test shot with a very small amount, that's what we (me and my bf) used to always do.

OP states in one of his post that there's been blood only for 1-2h in his syringe containing the drug and it's in the fridge. I just don't believe the bacteria growth in 1-2 hours will generate an issue.

Refiltering (all of the clotted blood) should do trick.
