Your friend should not heat it before he shoots it. It allows the fillers and binders to dissolve which can be problematic if the re-solidify once in the system.
It is not really worth it because it does not give you a rush, and the oral BA is already high on it, so you are not getting that much more out of it.
Basically, the negatives outweigh the benefits.

^ That's obviously what I said. It does not give me a rush, and if you did a little research around here you would see that a lot of people report that oxy does not give them a rush when they IV it.
That's not to say that some people don't get a rush from it. I guess it is hit or miss (no pun).

Shooting oxy is exponentially better than shooting morphine IMO.
It's clearly a subjective thing 
personally, the high oral bioavailability means shooting isn't really worth the additional risk, but each to their own
Either way, if you are going to shoot a pill, as Tommyboy said do not heat it unless you want a load of nasty fillers/binders in your bloodstream, and always use a micron filer to prevent silicosis from talc and other incredients lodging in your lungs.
