But shall I remind that lethal K OD is possible, but it is up to dispute if it is realistic without some serious mistake, when LD50 is at least 15 times higher than regular K-hole dose if no other drug is involved.

He paid through the arse to source it through a crooked doctor and had them show his PA how to inject it for him. Rather than laziness I think it was more akin to mental gymnastics in an attempt to justify his increasingly habitual use. Something like "This isn't drug abuse my assistant is just giving me my 'medicine'".
