Benzos Shocks from benzos or neurontin

I made a thread on this long ago and I think it got removed already. Didn't get an answer.

I'm not dependent on benzos so it's definitely not w/d.

So, often when I take benzos I get these electric shocks when I turn my head. Kinda like w/d from SSRI shocks.

Seriously, WTF is wrong with me. Seems that no one else has it. Searched the net and BL.

Maybe someone with good knowledge of this area can make up a possible explanation. Please.

I'll be talking with my doctor about it soon cuz it hasn't happened in so long since I haven't really taken them in a while before now.

Did u take ssri's before? I haven't taken any for a couple of years and I still get zapped sometimes.

^ Not for 10 years and only for 3 months. They are zaps just like the SSRI ones but that as bad just annoying,. Took xanax and neurontin last night and had them til like 10am this morning. Irritating.

I called my psych today and he said that some people have just them and no one in the medical community knows why.

I wonder if there is any way I can lessn them w/o the obvious answer of not taking either.
Happens for all GABA acting substances. But not always.
Maybe someone here has an idea?

I occasionally get electrical jolts in my legs, but it's only when I'm lying in my bed on my laptop, with a breakfast tray over my thighs
I take neurontin, but these jolts could be due to lack of circulation, lack of movement, or a number of things. I do notice that it happens A LOT more when I smoke weed while on neurontin.

but the things is that it only happens when the neurontin or benzo is active. Never ever otherwise.

So odd. It's for all GABA's like lyrica, neurontin and all benzos. But not always so I just don't get it. I got it last night and it lasted til the morning until I took vyvanse (such a great med).

So it is specifically caused by these meds since it never occurs otherwise. I mean it's not like I don;t have circulation problems, I do and arthritis and more stuff but it doesn't happen due to it. I wish I was just a mind and had no body, life would be so much easier. I love my mind and hate my diseased body (not the appearance just the health issues).

Maybe some sort of supplement might help?

Anyone have an explanation as to what might cause it? Why do all GABA's do it for me, like 20% of the time. Any benzos, be it xanax, kpins, valium.

My psych said its not harmful and he does not know how to help. The meds are very helpful so I won't stop them just due to that. I guess I just need to deal.

I have like the coolest psych in the world. He actually once told me he doesn't want to see me anymore but luckily took me back. We email, text message and he has a PhD in pharmacology. He's not an asshole like some other ones I've seen. The one b***h I've seen the whole time acted like she's better than me and needed to question everything I said. I said I have higher education and she was like "yeah ok right". Made me feel like a junky scum bag. Was my hospital psych, I have fibromyalgia or pain syndrome thing and she didn't give me anything for pain in the hospital. I was ripping my hair out from pain while pregnant and she didn't give a shit. No fucking heart. This guy worked with her actually but is totally different. Gives me and tells me what I need to get better. Helped me get of opiates. I am so glad I found this guy. I really hate most doctors. It's like they think we know nothing and are nothing, especially when are addicted to something.

I don't believe so. I see you asked about benzodiazepines re: alcohol withdrawal, and that's the most recent OD thread from you. The other one was deleted by you.

Which benzodiazepine(s) do you take for this to happen?

I see you mentioned alprazolam, diazepam, and clonazepam. Have you tried other benzodiazepines besides these?

I'm not sure what else you could do to be honest. Have you tried alternatives to benzodiazepines, like antihistamines such as hydroxyzine?

the last two mentioned never caused that but they are worthless anyways for me

Does it happen every time you take benzos? Is it dose-dependent (like if you take 1mg of alprazolam it's not as bad as if you take 2mg or more)?
