A quick question guys, and thanks for reading and taking time to answer. I am curious if anyone else has gone through this. I am new here and posted an intro and posted about my switch from Methadone to Suboxone.

I have been on Suboxone (8mg) for a few days now and I feel pretty good. It keeps my withdrawal pain at bay except that my arms still hurt. But I have been getting these shock sensations going through my body since I started taking them. What could this be? It feels like when I got off my Antidepressants and Benzo's a few years ago, it's just like shocks through my body/head but it's so often and really annoying and kind of uncomfortable. Could it be from the Suboxone or maybe something else? At the moment I am not on any other drugs.

Sounds like brain zaps... Methadone does have action on serotonin, this would explain why you felt this sensation. Brain zaps are associated with discontinuation of drugs which act on serotonin, and both methadone and antidepressants do this, explaining why you felt it in both situations. It will go away!

I had brain zaps bad when i quite zoloft. Ever since then i get them from opiate withdraw too. Taking a lortab wil usually fix it for me. I believe the zoloft permenately fucked up my brain. I always wondered if i was the only person who got zaps from opiate wd. Is their anyone else out the who had ssri wd that experiences zaps during opiate wd? I wish i had bl status so i could pm you op.

I wonder why it gets rid of my brain zaps. I am way too familiar with what brain zaps feel like and i definitely get the from hydrocodone wd. Its no where near as bad as the zaps from zoloft wd but it is definately brain zaps their is no mistaking that feeling. Does anyone else who has had brain zaps from ssri wd get them from opiate wd? I had to taper from zoloft for over a year i had them so bad. I would like to hear from other former ssri users? Should i start a new thread?

Glad i read this , exactly the same for me. Had it switching from meth to subox, and also years ago when on and off anti-depressants, This was when I was in rehab, so maybe it all has to do with withrawel, worrying thing is that doctors and psychiatrists seem to be oblivious
