Shitting blood - VERY OLD THREAD (2009)

At the moment, i am a little to embarrassed to go to the doctor about this problem. I notice that every time i shit, the first few wipes have a ton of blood. More so than I have ever seen before from just irritating that area. Plus, i seem to notice small amounts of blood on my shit. I'm afraid its my stomach, it has constantly been queazy recently, tho that could be because I've been a bit worried to say the least.

I've had the same problem, and although I can't tell you that it's ok I can say that it's not coming from your stomach, if the blood was black and clotted then you'd have a real problem, that would indicate internal bleeding in the stomach/intestines, if your blood is red then it is coming from the colon - could possibly be hemorrhoids or even an anal fissure, which might be unpleasant but not life threatening. I never went to see a doctor and it just went away naturally (still occasionally get spotting but nothing severe), but I don't necessarily recommend that. Obviously it isn't natural to bleed from the anus and if you are concerned you should consult a doctor, but don't stress too much, it's unlikely to be life threatening - although it could be an indicator of undelying problems that might lead to a life threatening condition.

I realize this is an old post. But I just found it and thought I'd let anyone searching for this, that I had the same problem and for me personally it was a tair in my anus due to trying to shit boulders! It wasn't anything they could treat. The dr. just said to take stool softeners. Hope this helps someone. I would still get it checked out though. Blood in your stool can mean a lot of different things.

I would take a heavy dose of metamucil. That stuff works wonders
