I know there is other posts on this but I'm too lazy to search for them so, here it goes:

So 2 years ago almost to the day, i acquired an ounce of marijuana while on vacation at my cabin near Montreal. after burning through half over the course of a week, i packed what remained in a sandwich baggie, wrapped it up tight and placed that in an air tight mason jar. Then i put that in a clay jar and stashed it in the cupboard.

so my question is: is this weed still good? the cabin is not air conditioned nor winterized. it is only used during the summer months but no one has even been there since 2009. If it is risky to smoke then its no big deal because i have family up there and can always get more.

First time poster,

Why not smoke it and find out?

In future when storing weed just store it in a jar with an airtight rubber seal in a dark placec. The plastic bag is unecessary, as is the clay jar. That said, I would have thought it would still be okay to smoke.

I dont know about 2 years, but I smoked some weed that was 9 months old and it was only in a plastic bag. Got me baked =D

If it's stored correctly in a jar in a cool dark place and occasionally 'burped' it can be stored a lot longer than two years potentially. Eventually it will start to lose a bit of it's potency but the quality will still be high for an awfully long time. In fact, many would advocate storing it (in the correct way) for years. I think a cure for a couple of years would produce great weed if the quality is there to begin with and it's done right.

I think the OP just wanted to know if the weed was safe AE. Anyway, welcome to BL Blanch, but please don't be "too lazy to search" because there's a ton of information on here and if people just started a new thread everytime they had a question without searching, this place would be a mess. I think the question has been answered, "yes it's safe as long as there's no mold" so I'm going to close this. PM with any questions.
