Bluelighter
I feel a glow of heat. Beyond the right edge of my sight. I pivot defensively, and my eyes dart to lock on its source. An unidentified person, focused and watching me. Insisting i rotate in direction, merely by using her gaze. Intense glowing eyes like the barrel of a gun. Or a vertiginous vertical cliff.
Time starts to dialate to slow motion; i feel like i've been here before. She seems to be saying something....but her lips make no effort to move. Sure of what's going on in her head (as for me), i'm far from having a clue. Whether it's a thirst for blood or a hunger for love, i can't even begin to say. She seems intelligent, rather brazenly so. I'm captively drawn but fear keeps me at bay.
She dominates my attention like a lion stalking prey. Six seconds stretch into sixty, as night seems to turn into day. And just when the timing is right,.....a figure cuts through our line of sight......and meanwhile i'm temporarily stunned.....she seizes the moment; she's done....
Time returns to its regular cadence as i am released from the hold of her matrix. My mind needs a reset before i can make sense...., and of course it starts racing in every direction.
"Is she gone forever, is she coming to attack me, is she coming to kiss me? Does she expect me to respond to her, am i supposed to understand what that look meant, does she know me but i don't know or remember her? Did she have a message for me?"
She could have been a jaded ex-lover from the past, a soul mate from the future, or even the angel of death toying and changing her mind. Whatever it was, i'm cannot explain. She came like the lightning and left me behind......
Amazing that it occurred almost a month to this day, i'd love to ask what she meant. Still vivid like it was yesterday, I wonder if i will ever see those eyes again. But hopefully, i'm ultimately blessed, i'm sure i'll have understood it by then.
