Yesterday I got my referral letter for hysterectomy surgery after waiting 6 months for the psychiatrist letters of approval (X2) and planning this surgery since mid 2018. I haven't been able to take the time off to recover that I can now, back when I was playing sport all winter and working all summer long. I'm so excited, I'm calling up the doctors rooms in the morning to book my appointment then likely within 1-2 months of my initial consult I'll be having surgery. It's going to happen very quickly after I get this appointment.
I also found out last week when I saw my addiction medicine specialist that being on sublocade isn't an issue with the surgery. They want me to stay on the medication and they'll just give me IV fentanyl and IV morphine plus oral Oxycodone instead of just IV morphine plus oral Oxycodone for the duration of the hospital stay, then when I get discharged after 3-5 days I'll be given much more pain relief to take home. So that's good news too.
Come two months or so I'll be post surgery, off some of my hormone medication, recovering, and getting back to my usual work and stuff.
This is also a very cheap surgery compared to my previous one, all up it'll cost me around $1500 instead of $10,000 so that's a huge bonus. Then I'm one step closer to being able to have the final surgery I want after I'm in a position to save enough money (or I win the lottery lol)
