Midnight gone, and moonlight
like a needle,
to pierce the window.
Just to stir a reflex from the shadow
alive in creases, thrown from shapes
of her.

She is beautiful
and the half-light makes it more so,
as kiss becomes bite becomes kiss.
Her eyes search mine
and I believe in her, for ever.
For she cannot be forgotten here.

We commit, silently, within the confines
of an astonished invisible force,
and it lets loose the oceans
to drown fickle ghosts of the past.
Until a mountain between us falls away.

She is perfect, precious,
and I see it now, because
it was pointed out by all my efforts not to see.
And now, when I look at her,
in the silence of my held breath.
I hear my soul being discovered by a truth.
