Mieke’s role on SBS currently consists of reading sports news during various SBS Sports programs and particularly during SBS soccer broadcasts. Mieke takes on the Sports News role for SBS's new show, The World Game.

Originally hired as a freelancer in 1999, Mieke – a Communications graduate – has a strong background in radio. She is best known as breakfast host on Doug Mulray’s The Basement.com internet radio station and has consequently become a regular panellist beside Mulray on Foxtel’s Beauty and the Beast program.

Mieke’s media background also includes stints as media liaison for various sport, entertainment and community events, freelance journalist for street rag Revolver and campaign manager for Dymocks bookstores.

However, Mieke’s first and greatest love is sport. With a predominantly Dutch background, the self-confessed fitness freak left her Brisbane roots to become a member of the NSW state netball squad. She has just married a former pro gridiron player.

put down one more vote for Jennifer Adams. Saw her at Mt. Buller last season, and she's even better looking in person. Can't wait for FHM or RALPH (or hopefully even picture magazine) to do a photo shoot with her...
