News Severe Co-Codamol Shortage in the UK

I really don't think promethazine adds much to the experience imho.

Just makes things fuzzier, more tired and sedated. That said I was partial to a holy Trinity fairly regularly until not too long ago.

I prefer the clear headed euphoria and relaxation that opiates bring.

well thats what everyone says but i swear as god as my witness i was using up to 3000 mgs daily or every other day and it got me wrecked i swear

but you need it to control the histamine no? plus i love promethazine i find it makes the buzz way more potent and the nod
 
cant use codeine nowdays tho cus for some reason the allergic reactions affect me a lot more than while i was younger but i will never forget the highs i used to get off those massive doses i understand if you lot think im lying but im not, i just kept increasing the dose as my tolerance increased until i was having to take ridicolous amounts

Not me.

I kinda like the histamine release of a good buzz. Usually only get it off a massive dose or some good pod tea these days. Doesn't bother me though. It's just part of the experience.

I don't think you're lying.

But yeah, I've always got promethazine lying around but there's better combos imho.

Are you really sure it was 3000mg (three grams) a day?

That's three times the LD50, and assuming an OTC CWE, that's 375 tablets per dose. Even with pure codeine pills (let's say 30mg) or 30/500 cocos, that's 100 pills a day.

Obviously, tolerance is tolerance, but it'd make no sense economically or logistically to continue using codeine at that level. You'd have issues with the fillers and binders for a start.

What issues are fillers and binder going to cause? They're essentially inert aren't they?
 
Sure, they're not a problem in smaller doses. But chugging down 100 pills will definitely cause problems. Let alone three times as many, even filtered.

If we're talking CWE, that's 50 grams of paracetamol. Even the most effective CWE isn't stopping that.

Yes. I used to take a whole box of 50 30mg tabs beleive me or dont beleive me I dont really care

Can you elaborate, like what kinda problems?

I've no intention of taking that much. But if that was the score, I'd probably base/acid with NPS.
 
Wait 15-20 minute until they are mostly dissolved shake it loads put it in the fridge and get 4 cups and get 4 filters going. kids these days talk about lean dont realise they can get half a bottle for 3 quid

Mostly inert, yes, but people aren't supposed to be ingesting 100 tablets at a time.

Confusingly, Pete is now saying 50 tablets at a time, which is 'only' 1500mg. Even so, given that codeine has a ceiling dose below that, you're effectively pissing money away and would be much better off buying smack.

Which goes doubly if you're dependent on elaborate four cup CWEs on OTC 8/500s. No thanks. I live a sad life, but even my time is worth more than that.

If you're using two litres or thereabouts to CWE four boxes you are using way too much water and definitely getting more than four grams paracetamol. Sounds dangerous.
