Hi everyone. I'm new here and I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight as no medical professional seems to have an answer. The first week of April, I was diagnosed at the hospital with serotinin syndrome after a 72 hour panic attack, that included vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, dilated pupils, involuntary jaw movement and a 100 degree fever. I was given fluids and ativan and sent home. Pretty much the worst experience of my life and I would not wish it on anyone. The first week after the drug was out of my system I was incredibly paranoid and anxious. The paranoia has subsided and the anxiety is getting better everyday but it's not a normal thing for me to be baseline nervous and I'm also experiencing leg weakness at times. I've also noticed that my brain doesn't seem to be as "quick" to process information as it was before the SS. Has anyone else experienced long term effects like these after having SS? The doctors I've seen tell me that after the drug leaves your system you should have no further symptoms but that's not the case and I wasn't like this before the SS. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

It may be the psychological stress/PTSD from your experience. Search BL for tips on how to cope and recover. Good luck.
