Hey my psychiatrist prescribed me 50mg seroquel xr for the treatment of HPPD ( I am well aware that benzos are the most effective way to get rid of HPPD, but she refused to prescribe me colonozepam).. Ive heard cases where atypical anti-psychotics have worsened HPPD, and many cases where it "reduced" it to an extent, although not much.
Personally, I chose to give Seroquel a go, because I have OCD, something which I know seroquel will help me with as even 25mg of it did! also I wanted seroquel to help stabilize my mood.. However two nights ago I did my FIRST seroquel dose and I woke up feeling pretty good, tired of course but by about 11am I started to feel as if it had made my HPPD worse.. I took the seroquel at 9.30pm the night before. But, from what ive heard it has a half life of 12 houres. Anyway, am I being paranoid?? because does it not take up to 2 weeks for it to be effective? should I continue and try it?
