I've been taking 25mg once a day for roughly a week now and it seems to be helping with my anxiety. However, after some reading i gather it negates the effects of many of my favourite drugs, namely stimulants and opiates.

I know the drug only has a half-life of six hours so when i skipped a day's dose i thought all would be good but to my disappointment no high whatsoever.

Can anyone provide me with any more information? Does this medication completely ruin any fun i might want to have?

Hm i unfortunately had a stupid psychiatrist put me on 200mg seroquel xr (much higher than your dosage) for almost under a year, till i quit a month ago. Yes if you do amphetamines/uppers it does decrease the high severely since it's built up in your system

For opiates it might slightly enhance it, especially the drowsy feeling, so for some drugs it will decrease their high, for a few it might potentiate it. Congrats it works for your anxiety, i wish it did for me ;(

I've been taking 50mg a night of seroquel (Not extended release) for insomnia. I never take it the nights i plan to stay up/use ect. and my experience is always fine considering that we both use similar substances (Stims and opiates)

I would simply recommend that you just take a holiday off the seroquel and see how long it takes in order for you to get some effects from your desired substance.

You are less likely to get any effect out of stimulants (Amphetamines) because seroquel is dopamine and serotonin antagonist. Looking at the way amphetamines work its pretty obvious why you can't feel much because there isn't any dopamine left for the amphetamine to act upon. Hope this helps.

At 25mg's you are really only getting the anti-histamine effects. I very much doubt if there is any significant serotonin or dopamine antagonism at that dose. As for seroquel blocking the effects of drugs it does not block the effects of opiates at all. I am currently on 300-400mg's of seroquel a night and i can still get plenty high on opiates. I am prescribed both actually. As for Amphetamines seroquel probably won't block the effects at the dose you are on.

Yes under 100 mg it merely works like a potent anti-histamine, pretty good enhancement for the opiate tolerant. That's not taking it's metabolites and build-up due to daily intake (especially xr) into account though.
