So I've been reading up on Seroquel (Quetiapine fumarate), doing some research, and I've run into some confusion regarding solubility. It seems the manufactures product information release simply states:

Solubility in Water: Moderately soluble in water.

Now this information is incredibly vague (likely intended), however it does not help me much at all. I have read that solubility can be greatly increased by heating, but I would imagine it would begin to recrystallize immediately. I would like to know more about the solubility of Quetiapine.

What is Quetiapine Fumarate's Solubility dH2O?
What other ingestable solvents is Seroquel (Quetiapine fumarate) reasonably soluble in?

Ya I dug up that number during my search. I didn't know Seroquel IR wasn't Quetiapine until now, actually. What is it?

Basically I'm wondering at this point just out of curiosity about the safest process to IV Seroquel IR. A bunch of rather desperate addict tales, many from prison, talk about "Q-balls", or Seroquel and Cocaine. If I could work out a proper solvent, and have a few micron filters around, I might give it a try once or twice. Honestly it doesn't sound that interesting but none-the-less.

I have IV'd Phenazepam before using Isopropyl Alcohol, which I recently learned to be FDA approved for intravenous injection. Never did it too often though, because I would be wary of ingesting that much IPA and then of course having it metabolize to Acetone, it just doesn't seem like its that great for you. Plus it burns like hell (used 99% IPA once on accident as a carrier for MDPV, it was the first time I ever slammed it, before I even knew that you could. I felt it burning up my vein and then I smelled the spoon and it reaked of the stuff. Reasonably ignorant, I freaked out pretty hardcore. But apparently when used for occasion like that, and not on a continual basis, I guess its pretty harmless?

So, veering back to the topic, does anyone know if/how soluble Seroquel IR is in IPA?

Just because you can get a compound which is insoluble in water to dissolve in alcohol doesn't mean you should be injecting it. Once it is in your blood stream (i.e. water) it may precipitate back out. Albeit the volume of blood in the human body is like 5L but still it won't be fully mixed before at least circulating through the lungs once and if the solubility is less than mass injected over 5L you'll still get some solids regardless.

Isopropanol, the bottles of rubbing alcohol available at pharmacies for cheap, are fill of impurities which make it improper for oral or IV consumption.

Only medicinal, 100% isopropanol alcohol would be safe to IV, and even then, you would need to dilute it so it doesn't wreck your vein.

This is because we know IVing just 100% pure ethanol (ethyl alcohol, aka drinking alcohol) will cause your veins to collapse.

Overall I would never recommend using isopropanol to IV with. It's just a bad choice when better ones should be easily attained.

Do you have a source for IPA being FDA approved for IV use? What kind of dose is approved? I've looked around the web after a post I encountered on the Shroomery, but all I've found were uncited sources like this one.

This is for intellectual curiosity only.
