EDIT: REVISITED -- Please refer to post #7

I've tried searching here and on google and found no quick, legit-looking answer, so I figure why not put my sanity in bluelights hands.

I'm diagnosed schizophrenic and still try to enjoy the occasional drug. Today, probably about *snip - no prices* of coke. I took 300mg 2 nights ago and 600mg extended release last night around 8pm. I have two basic questions.

1, will I even get high? I am also on 20mg abilify tapering and 100mg lamictal, both anti-psychotics. My intuition tells me that because the effects were diminished by the abilify and lamictal alone, probably not.

2, how dangerous is this combination? I've heard about seroquel for cocaine comedowns but never in this high of a dose. Also, is there an increased risk for a psychotic episode from this combination vs. coke alone in a schizophrenic? I don't really want to be locked up in my room for 4-5 days trying to ride it out before having to confess my actions to my psych yet another time.

Thanks.

Also, yes I know drugs with mental health issues such as my own is a bad idea. But I want to get higgghhhh tho.

i doubt it, coke's action is primarily dopaminergic and seroquel is a fairly wide-spectrum dopamine antagonist. there probably isn't much harm in it, but you'll likely just get all the annoying peripheral side-effects without much of the rush or high.

Yeah I might as well have just snorted the bill and stayed up for 3 days and sipped on some coffee. The neighbors are talking about me @.- hopefully tonight's dose of seroquel will get them to stop.. Wish I would've read this before I scored. Thanks anyway.

dont think coke would be a good susbtance for you....also if you really want do it eat the sero on the comedown. Ive never tried coke + sero but ive dosed seroquel and adderal at the same time, smoked a joint and passed after a few hours.

I've known many people with bipolar/schitzophrenic diagnosis, and coke seems to be their go-to high. I don't think mixing it with those meds is safe by any means, but i've seen it done.

Ok, seroquel xr + cocaine revisited.

I want to try again. How long do I have to be off my pills? Just any amount over 24 hours? I can go up to 48 I imagine because it says when you miss a dose to just skip it. I guess I want to know does seroquel build up in the body like, say, abilify?

I am now down to 5mg of abilify so that's got to be in my favor, right? I've been on 600mg since the time of OP.

Thanks again BL!

You are on a very high dose of quetiapine, and it is in extended release format; I'm afraid you won't eliminate it from your system in 48 hours, and I highly recommend you stay on your meds and away from stimulants, even though cocaine has less of a tendency to worsen psychoses than amphetamines might.

Is it worth the risk? I know how it is to be in heavy psychosis, and I wouldn't do it.

Worth the risk? Idk, say I do break. What's the remedy? Happy thoughts and a heavy dose of anti-psychs? Well, that's the norm for me so... Granted seroquel has been an extremely effective medicine for me and if I ruin this drug somehow (is it possible?) I will be kicking myself in the head afterwards.

I skipped the dose last night and fell asleep normally. I've placed an "order" which I can back out of until about 2pm today... If there's a chance I'll feel it, I'm going to do it. But it seems that chance is small or non-existent.

Tbh, Venrak, you've scared me good and proper.. Probably will give it a pass, unless my inner demons take over, or further evidence or anecdotes emerge.

I'm somewhere on the spectrum myself, and can handle doing coke every now and then, but my situation is different.

I'm not as much worried about the one session causing an episode, rather it is the fact that you will be either under medicated or not at all for the cocaine to be effective, and the possibility of that causing you to stop taking your medication all together. You must know how we get these ideas sometimes when we should be medicated but aren't.
