Hey, so I've been prescribed seroquel (quetiapine) for recurring auditory hallucinations (voices) and I'm looking for recreational drugs that don't interact/would harm me the least. I used to smoke weed, drink, and trip regularly (the classics to the 2c's), had a great time on mdma/mda as well. I understand it generally isn't a good idea to smoke weed or trip anymore due to my condition. I've mostly overcome the hallucinations after about a year of treatment with different antipsychotics settling on seroquel. In addition, I've found alcohol is potentiated by seroquel so i would have to take drinking super moderately. I've heard of people on SSRI's rolling on methylone and I was wondering if you all have any advice whether that would work for me but also on good recreational drugs that would do the least harm given my mental state, prescription, and physical health/potential for addiction in general.

Really broad question I know but good answers would greatly help me.

Also sorry for any run on sentences/bad grammer.

edit: one of my questions was too broad; here's the more specific question I was getting at:
Can I have a (incomplete) list of entactogens that aren't heavy on serotonin receptors?

I would imagine that having a few drinks wouldn't be harmful (if you're of decent age and don't have any addiction issues).

As for pot, it wouldn't be a good idea in large amounts. Sativa weed is a no-go. Indica perhaps occasionally in smallish amounts wouldn't be horrible.

Its really up to your doctor though.

I can tell you that you need to stay away from hallucinogens.

Increasing dopamine and then killing it with Seroquel will make you not have a trip. You can of course overpower it by taking more, but it cancels out the Seroquel, and taking enough MDMA will allow you to have a semi roll, but you won't quite roll.

Try if you want.

NOOOO! I tell you - don't drink at first! I did, thinking what will those two beers do for me, me who I can drink grown men under the table... I puked like a teenager. So no, moderately is too much. Try to have a glass of wine and see how it feels, then go by your feeling. As tolerance grows, you can move on to moderately. But first few weeks - not a good idea.

I have been on Seroquel for about 4 years now and I can tell you few things from my experience (which may or may not be suitable for you though, that means: use caution!). Amphetamines are quite alright, Seroquel helps you sleep at least, which makes it better (stimulant psychosis wouldn't be very good thing to have in your condition).

I am currently been taking Seroquel with ethylphenidate (research chemical, also a stim) and it's been quite alright, no complications to be noted. Helps with the sleep and comedowns in general.

But since I am not very familiar with downers or "trippy" drugs, I can not comment on that. But it seems to me (knowing Seroquel as well as I do) that you might be on a safer side with stimulants. But use caution and do your research, just to be sure. Only thing I know for SURE is that alcohol - even as little as two beers - will end in vomiting session:)

I have been prescribed this medication for four years; I've been on doses ranging from 25 mg to 600 mg. My current dose is 100 mg(IR), and i take it at night only. I have taken seroquel in low to high doses on low to high doses of 2ce, 2c-t-2, 2ci, LSD, mushrooms, MDMA, PCP, DMT, ketamine, and 5meodipt. From my experience I have never had problems as long as i took it at the end or after a trip. Also even when I was taking 600 mg IR a night I still had no problem tripping the next day or rolling. If you your seroquel dose is like 100 mg IR or less at bedtime then you should have no problem tripping the next day, though increased dosage is sometimes needed. It will be a bit weaker, but i have had almost all my major psychedelic experiences while perscribed seroquel, and i couldn't notice much of a difference at all, which is why i don't see much point going through hard withdrawels just to make drugs a little bit stronger. However because of your mental condition I wouldn't recommend you do take any euphoric stimulant or hallucinogen, they both could cause auditory hallucinations. Also if your taking antipsychotics during the daytime then tripping will be really hard.Keep in mind everyone is different and no one should take my experience as proof that seroquel is safe in combination with other drugs, I was just trying to share my experience.

^^ This is helpful. I will keep this in mind. I'm currently taking 300 mg IR at night a half hour to an hour before bed. It's good to know I have the option of taking these drugs even if it's not necessarily a good idea given my condition. The main reason I started this thread was to get help figuring out what I can take and what would be least harmful to take in terms of recreational drugs. I know that the latter question is generally frowned upon here so I'm grateful to have the first answered well from firsthand experience. I wasn't planning on not taking seroquel to take other drugs generally, unless I got stupid drunk which I'm generally trying to avoid as the "don't mix alcohol and pills" common sense advice seems like good advice. Again, I'm just trying to figure out which drugs would be the best fit for me moving forward. Which again, I understand if no one can answer given its not a good question. My plan is to drink moderately and possibly take other drugs that aren't heavy on serotonin impact. I still have a positive view of etheogens but they don't seem like a good idea. Weed was causing me paranoia towards the end of my past drug using/beginning of treatment so I don't plan on moving into that. So that only really leaves entactogens, stimulants, benzos, and opiates; of which I only want to take entactogens if any.

So my next more specific question is can I have a list of entactogens that aren't heavy on messing with serotonin receptors? I'll put this in my top post as well.

why would you want to trip on psychedellics if you are a schizophrenic? it seems contradicting to me. i would expect LSD, shrooms, and other psychedelics to worsen your hallucinations, they might send you into a state you will NEVER be able to recover from.

1. I haven't been diagnosed schizophrenic although I do experience a similar problem
2. I'm no longer asking about psychedelics, dissociatives as they fall into the category of etheogens. I've in fact stated I already think using these drugs is (probably) a bad idea given my mental condition.
3. If i were to use them it would be because I still have a favorable view of these drugs as they allowed me to troubleshoot my mental state when I was first experiencing mental health problems and granted me moments of clarity in what was an increasingly muddy period of time.
4. I'm asking about which entactogens (read: MDMA and it's ilk) would cause the least damage to my mental state if I wanted to use one of them (which entactogens have the least impact on serotonin which I'm assuming is causing problems for me since the primary function of seroquel is to reduce serotonin levels in the brain.

Quetiapine has the following pharmacological actions:[41][42][43][44]

D1 (IC50 = 1268nM), D2 (IC50 = 329nM), D3, and D4 receptor antagonist
5-HT1A (IC50 = 717nM), 5-HT2A (IC50 = 148nM), 5-HT2C, and 5-HT7 receptor antagonist
α1-adrenergic (IC50 = 94nM) and α2-adrenergic receptor (IC50 = 271nM) antagonist
H1 receptor (IC50 = 30nM) antagonist
mACh receptor (IC50 = >5000nM) antagonist

I wouldn't touch this shit let alone mix it with anything. I had it prescribed for a few days at a mental hospital I was in and i ended up throwing the script into a bonfire a few days later.

It messes with dopamine, serotonin, and adrenaline and also acts as an antihistamine. It's like, a big fuck fest all over your neural system.

EDIT - I really can't believe a doctor prescribed it to me . . . they'll prescribe this particular drug (Seroquel) for anything! If that doctor had ever taken this drug i bet he wouldn't give it to his worst enemy. It raised my blood sugar up like 50 points in 3 days!!! Later read that it is known to cause Diabetes type 2 in young adults! Yikes!

Yes seroquel aka qutiapine it take 200mgs at night of it .Be carefull mixing seroquel with other substances especially alcahol my friend could lead to respertory problems and a hole host of other difficulties. The other day i was reading a artical about prisoners facking phychotic symptoms to get seroquel which goes by the name SUZIE QS in prison for the anti anxiety and sleep inducing effects!!

umm. I've safely mixed seroquel and DXM. But the high is usually weak. Or the seroquel makes me fall asleep. good luck
