Heroin SERIOUS problem after IV drug use

So my friend who has been using tar heroin for a very long time she has managed to blow all her veins out through tar heroin and reusing dull syringes. Anyway like four days ago she shot in her ankle and missed a little but. VERY little, i mean a very tiny bit. Even after that shot I did three shots there in the same place after and didnt miss at all. Anyway like 18 hours later her ankle started hurting, by the next day she could barely walk on it it hurt so bad. It was red and pink and slightly swollen. It was so painful she literally couldn't walk. Now, at about 3 days after the initial injections in the spots, there is virtually no pain in her ofot anymore she says she walks and it doesnt hurt too bad.

However, her whole foot is SUPER swollen and the right outside of the ankle is red. I know it sounds like it may be an abscess but i've had three of those and that her foot isn't one. Not with that kind of swelling. Anyone have any ideas or home remidies? 8o 8o
 
She may have shot into an artery.

In any case get her to a fucking emergency room fucking ASAP!

This is not something a home remedy can fix!

No shit! sooooooo correct.

If you're in Dallas I'd get to presbyterian or baylor asap (I like presby more.), that is if she likes waking on two feet.

She is at a crossroads where veins are in more dangerous locations relative to arteries... God I have one black dot in my arm and hate it, I can't even imagine collapsed veins. The tar we get down here is nasty fierce with bacteria so it could be an abcess, but ignored it could go septic. My whole arm swelled, not just an abcess, the worst I've gotten, scared me shitless, five days in the hospital. Damn good food at presby.

I rapidly gave up IV due to a so so then severe abcess. Freaked me out enough to only do it rectally after heavy cooking... I don't user heroin any more, and actually never did too much, which is why it's shocking that in the less than 20 times I IVed with clean rigs and cookers I got an abcess. Never again.
 
Go to the hospital right now. If you/ she is shooting tar and missed some, an abcess is likely, but gangrene is possible. It certainly sounds bad, she/ you needs to seek medical attention ASAP as it could be the difference between losing your foot or not.

That is all you should do. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Go straight to the hospital. Pm me if you have questions.
