Hi, i dont know how it happened but basically my knee is kiling me. iv booked a blood test and x ray and in the mean time my doc has given me naproxen and tramadol but he said if the tramadol didn't work leave him a message and he will prescribe something a bit stronger.

The tramadol works very very slightly (they are the 100mg extended release ones) more than the naproxen alone which does nothing on its own.

I was just wondering what advice people would give me to ask for. I think this post is allowed as its not anything about sourcing im just looking for advice on opiates stronger than tramadol, codeine and DHC. oxycodone? or is that really hardcore, i just don't know which opiates are likely to be prescribed here in the UK. He is a good caring doctor and knows i know a fair bit about drugs so hes always open to suggestions.
Any suggestions? it would really help me a lot coz i can barely walk and my x ray isn't until Tuesday coz of the f**king royal wedding. i thought of going to a and e but its miles away from where i am and i don't think its quite serious enough for that. i only go there when i think im literally dying.
Any suggestions people?

hmm but thats just dihydrocodeine plus paracetamol and DHC alone doesnt even touch it. it aint to get high its literaly to take the pain away so i can walk and do normal stuff till they figure out whats wrong. thanks for the reply though

Did your knee pain come after crouching down?

My oldman crouched down and had a sharp very bad pain in his knee, ached for days and made him walk with a limp - turned out it was loose cartilage floating round in his knee, he had key whole surgery to remove it.

nah i have no idea how it happened thats th most annoying thing coz i was in a k hole. i literaly an't kneel down. im sure ill need somthing done to it but im just wanting a short term pain killer option till the results come through. i was thinking of asking for oxycontin or something but i dno if thats too hardcore. he wuld probs be ok with that because its extended release. but it don't bode well if 400mg of chewed up extended relese tramadol doesnt make it hardly any beter at all. also thats a dangerous dose so yeah.

I am sorry about your injury, and I hope you get it figured out and properly treated/medicated. But bluelight isn't here to help you get specific medications prescribed, or to tell you how to go about asking your doctor for certain things.

Just be honest about your pain/injury, and the doctor should not have a problem properly treating you. You even said that he told you if the tramadol isn't cutting it he will prescribe something stronger.

I am going to close this. If you have any questions about the rules or anything don't hesitate to PM me or any of the other OD staff.

Mike
