See lots of winged forms?

I'd say the obvious explanation for seeing winged forms and demonic things would be having some influence of religion in your life. I think it's almost always the case that peoples archetypes in their trips are based on things they've learnt and seen during their lives. In my case I've never seen a winged form in my trips unless you count birds, but I've seen self-dribbling basketball elves, I'm sure thanks to Mr McKenna's descriptions, snakes, and even the classic pink elephant.

But I wonder why wings seem so common in psychedelic art, like this

I'd imagine the reason for the wings can be garnered from the explanation of the piece of art given by the artist himself.

Which (I'd imagine) might also be his response to your first post. :)

My thoughts exactly, that psychedelics unlock the ability to see aspects of our "Greater Being" that our minds then turn into visualizations drawing from our incarnated experiences.

The following all come from this slideshow vid someone made of Good Morning Starshine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hw3oxJvSRj0

I more FEEL then "see" these sort of forms tripping, especially ones like the final abstract transcendental "Light Being." But sometimes both. Oddly, and inexplicably, at just this sort of canted angle... another element to the theme that seems to occur over and over and over in the annals of art history. I *DO* think it has something to do with an opened connection to SOMETHING about the real and hidden transcendental, beyond time and space source of our universe and our being.
