I am trying to search within a specific thread; and I search under my user name, without keywords, and I find nothing, inside of a thread that I have posted in dozens and dozens of times.

Can this be fixed? I know before the upgrade, I could search in a thread for posts by me and they would actually show up.

I noticed this earlier myself. Wanted to find a specific thread I posted in and it hadn't updated the search list in the previous hour.

^ To find all the threads you have posted in, here's what you do

1) click on your user name
2) click view profile (if you click on your user name link at the top of the page, you can skip #2)
3) click on "Find latest posts"
4) All of your posts in order of when you have posted them, should show up. In each search result, you will find a link to your post directly, and a link to the thread that your post is located in.

If you're saying you see this list but it is not up to date, then my apologies! :) Just wanted to make sure you could find them.

I would do the same thing for my post, but I have over 27,000 posts, and it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Thank you :)

I could get to the list of my posts, but it had not updated in over an hour resulting in me losing the thread I was posting in. :/

Interesting.

I also am not aware if anyone has reported these specific problems about the search engine yet. I know there are a lot of general "the search engine sux!!1" reports, but I typed out as specifically as I can the problem I am encountering, and hope that there is a solution to it.

I do know for a fact that this wasn't a problem in the past, as I would often be searching for that "needle in the haystack" post that would otherwise be lost without being able to search for it, and in the past, I could find it with the help of the search engine.

I cannot replicate this problem.

Using the thread menubar (at the top of this thread):

Search Thread > Advanced Search
Type "Captain.Heroin" (without quotes) into User Name field > Search Now

This generates your posts in this thread.

What am I missing?

Just another 'pro-tip'... but if when viewing the forum index you click on the number of replies to a particular thread, it will generate a list of people who have posted in that thread.

It will also have the number of posts that person has made in that thread. Clicking on that number will then provide a search result list of those posts.

This is a quicker (point-and-click) method of performing the search you described above.

Ah yes, I will just do that from now on. That's incredibly easier; thanks.
