I can imagine the reporters train of thought:
"pssh opiates and amphetamine are old news... whats that new drug menace called? Oh yeah, ecstacy! Let's just say it was ecstacy in the kids food."
They are using the same logic they used to burn witches back in the day (monty python style)
"If witches burn, and wood burns, and wood floats, and ducks float, then if she weighs less than a duck, she is a witch!"
except now its "If opiates/amphetamine are illegal drugs, and ecstacy is an illegal drug, than that must mean opiates/amphetamines are ecstacy!"
Excellent logic imo, the word ecstacy is thrown around so much that anything can be labelled as ecstacy now.
My friend once said "Woah man i was tripping so hard off this stuff called AMT, I was tripping for like 12 hours! Its because of all the ecstacy that is in AMT!". I didn't even point out his horrible inaccuracy, why bother.
