I am scripted 72mg Concerta/day which has previously been a weekly pickup arrangement as my track record with drugs of dependance is not a stellar one.
My psych wrote me a script with 2 repeats to cover his holiday time ect...
He did not write on the script the weekly pickup arrangement ect...
Now I went and filled the 30 days worth of meds at a random pharmacy that i'd never usually use on the 9th of Oct. Moron me went through said 30 days supply within 2 weeks...
All the research I've done over the last 2 weeks regarding laws and pharmacy practices and analysis of the PBS S8 literature for pharmacies has been concrete in that 1. Pharmacy keeps the script. 2. Pharmacy cannot and will not dispense a repeat any earlier than 30 days. 3. There is no negotiation ect... going on holiday yada yada.
With nothing left to loose today I figured fuck it. I'll try and get a very early repeat and if it all goes bad ill just let it happen, take script off me, whatever...
They filled the script again... no issue. 14 days early...
The 2 pharmacists on duty were the same as last time. Pretty green. English not good with one, the other mostly non existent.
Obviously I need to work on taking meds as prescribed but I am amazed that this scenario was even possible with the Victorian S8 drug system. I can't believe no "red flag" came up on their computer system
