Sitting watch TV snacking on a sandwich
Close to the girl he loves
Things suddenly go spotted
then blood everywhere unsure where it is coming from
then she realizes
he is bleeding from the nose and eyes
Panic stirs them both
she runs to get help
It just happen to be me
I grab my cell phone and follow her
she is screaming and crying and panicing
I arrive to see a man he can't be more then maybe 27?
laying on the floor one eye bugging out filled with blood
the other just filled with fear.
I lean down and say,, it is okay help is on the way
I speak to them both calm and soft
telling them both to breathe calmly
I tell him focus on her don't let her out of his site
seconds turn to minutes but the minutes take forever
I grab some damp clothes pressure on his sinuses
elevating his head,,,, using all the first aid i know
to help the situation, not knowing what is wrong
if i am helping or not , just knowing i am doing something.
but the bleeding is lessened but the air is still filled with fear.
I continue to talk to these two scared souls
In my head i am thinking the worst
But my voice stays calm, my hand holding his
making sure as he starts to fade he keeps focused on her
She telling me thank you thank you over and over
but there is nothing to thank me for
I am there I am doing what is needed.
Finally i hear the sirens for help
But the reaction for him is not what i would have guessed
he freaks and tries to get up
he has no strength
I tell him, they are only here to help him.
They are only gona make sure he is alright
He speaks he is scared he doesnt know what to do
I tell him,,,, let them help you.
They arrive with equipment in toe
I fade to the background and turn to go downstairs
My thoughts are now my own
I go back to finishing my laundry that i was working on
But I know the nights sleep won't be empty
it will be filled with reminders of the scared two souls
i met today.
